Trips

My weekend trip to St. Paul and Montevideo went by fairly well, except for the fact I totally screwed up my sleep pattern. After I got off work at 7 in the morning I stayed up for a little while until our family left town around 10am. We got to my sister's in Montevideo about 3pm. At that point I was on the verge of collapsing, yet I still managed to visit with my family until 7pm, where I ended up staying up for 26 hours straight before getting some much needed rest. On Saturday we all went to visit my Uncle Roy down in St. Paul. He was just diagnosed with cancer last month, and is only expected to live another 18-24 months. He looked a little weak, definitely not his former self, but he still was his same old joking self, and our family and I had a great time visiting with him for about the 8 hours we were there. We went out for dinner, and shortly thereafter headed back to Montevideo.

Ann and I drove home early the next day so I could catch the 49ers play the Saints. It was a match-up Corey and I was anticipating for months since those are our favorite teams. Unfortunately we couldn't catch the action until midway thru the second quarter. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings cause they had Direct Ticket and thought they had access to all the games, but they said their televisions were only set for half of the games on that day. We then drove to Joe DiMaggio's and it was the same story there. Finally, the third time was a charm as we were able to see it at Dagwood's. It was actually a damn close game as the 49ers knocked out Deuce McAllister early on with an injury that'll let him be out of action from 3-5 weeks. 49ers got the lead near the end, and were just simply running the ball to kill the clock, but with 3 minutes to go, Jamal Robertson fumbled and lost, and the Saints drove all the downfield to make a game winning TD with a minute left to win a close one, 30-27.

I only had about five hours of sleep that day, so shortly after the game I literally dropped dead on my bed around 7pm thinking to myself, 'just a lil 3-4 nap so I can make it thru the night to keep up my sleep pattern' but no siree, stayed passed out until 3am. I stayed after that watching shows I taped like TNA, Smackdown, and some CSI (I have been really getting into that since they've been airing re-runs on Spike TV last month). TNA was its regular hour of mediocrity. Smackdown surprised me with the return of Big Visc and Gangrel, and how Tazz & Cole left commentary during a nothing match was uniquely memorable was well. But was it me or did it look like Heidenrich was butt-raping Cole? I managed to take another nap later on Monday from 2-6pm, but I still thought I would be screwed going into work tonight, but I managed to stay alert throughout my shift until this very moment. Thank God in lil miracles.

Saw the 'season premeir' of RAW last night, kind of silly to label it that since there never are any re-runs of RAW aired, but there was sure some groundbreaking stuff. The Kane/Lita/Sninski stuff was actually pretty entertaining, and Vince's announcement also has me curious on what the fans will vote to happen at the PPV. The Shawn/Y2J match was gold until the damn run-ins ruined it, but all in all, another good RAW.

That about wraps it up for me today....lates.
