Thanks to all of those replies. Wow. Well, I did buy one (It was hard to find) and I tested it out. It seems that the carpet does not effect the performance BUT I do notice that is more difficult to obtain balance on carpeted flooring over a hard concrete surface such as in my basement. Apparently the carpet and the subfloor do make a slight difference in the balancing games. So, are they going to make some good games for this thing?

Anyone who knows how scales work and/or owns a Wii Fit should be able to help me with this question. If you put a scale on a carpeted floor, it is not accurate due to the resistance of the carpeted flooring. Carpeted flooring being plush gives a little so the resistance is not as great as putting a scale on a concrete floor which has a great amount of resistance. What I would like to know is, does a Wii balance board compensate for carpeted floors, or are they quite accurate to what your doctor's scale would register. Also, I would be using this in an upstairs living area which has carpet on top of plywood flooring (which flexes as well) Does anyone understand what I am trying to ask?
