Wii U in the States: 350 dollars.
What usually happens? 350 dollars are magically converted into 350 euros (=451.994 $).
350 euros correspond to423.614 Swiss francs, which will most likely be AT LEAST 429.90.
429.90 CHF correspond to458.704 $!!!
Now, can anybody explain why do certain parts of the world have to pay roughly 110 dollars more than America? I understand that economy is different, but 460 dollars is just too much! I'd buy a Wii U as soon as I could if I were American, what the hell!
Well, I'm trying to compensate my wrath with this song, enjoy! :P Just make sure you have some nice headphones!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17XFlEPM-SoIt's good stuff, listen to it, you will thank me in the near future!!!
This is what Nintendo fans like: Mario games in 3D that have something new and fresh, Zelda, games which involve exploration and variegated gameplay, Japanese role playing games like the good old times of the SNES and Gamecube.
This is what they're getting: nothing. Pikmin and ports.
I seriously hope we're going to have nice surprises tomorrow, but I had the same hopes before E3, I'm afraid their Golden Age is ancient history.
I really like the 3DS instead. I recently bought Resident Evil Revelations and MGS snake eater (I paid it very little!), I'm glad Europe finally has Tales of the Abyss, one of the best in the series (not as good as Symphonia, but a lot better than Phantasia and Vesperia!). I hope Time Travelers and Bravely Default get localized soon!
Here is today's masterpiece :Phttp://youtu.be/XkCj2XbUkac
Wii U: Nintendo has many unannounced games for their new upcoming console, and the E3 was their occasion to show them. They didn't. They didn't announce the release date, they didn't publish technical details, they basically haven't announced anything new except for ZombiU and Project P-100, the only thing we know now is the existence of the hardcore controller, which is a good thing in my opinion. I'm pretty excited for the new console, but Nintendo could have done something more with the presentation.
Pikmin 3: I've never been a pikmin fan, but not because I don't like it, just 'cause I never had the occasion to play one. It's like sushi, I really like eating fish in general, I never tried eating sushi, but if I did I'd probably like it. I remember seeing pikmin for the GC when it came out in 2001, I was 10 back then, and I wondered what it was. I'm thinking about getting the second one for the Wii. The new one looks fabulous, it's one of those games that benefit from Wii U graphics: HD will make you feel like being into the wild while playing a game into the wild, I'm really looking forward to this game.
New Super Mario Bros 2: Mario's 2D games are starting being too many lately, but it's ok as far as they are on handheld. Who couldn't enjoy playing a 2D mario platformer on a handheld device? I'm not really excited about this game, but I'll sure pick it up when it'll be cheap.
New Super Mario Bros U: Is this the way to valorize your new full HD console, Nintendo? A new 2D Mario platformer? Come on, as much as I like Mario games and platformers in general this can't be taken seriously. No way I'm getting this, if you want my money, make a TRUE Mario game, let Miyamoto show us how his world is like in HD. Of course the Italian plumber doesn't need HD graphics to look realistic, it wouldn't make sense, but I'm sure Nintendo knows this, and the new 3D Mario will be a visual artistic masterpiece.
Zombi U: I like horror games only when they have a psychological/mentally sick component on them, such as Silent Hill and Fatal Frame (Project Zero). Resident Evil is not bad, I've only played the fourth and I'll probably be getting Revelation when I'll buy a 3DS, but shooting zombies just to survive, without anything being explained isn't for me. Good thing Ubisoft is doing this though, they're outstanding developers, and their support for Nintendo's new console makes me hope. Nice exclusive, not my usual bread but a nice one.
Project P-100 or whatever it's called: A game by the Metal Gear Solid creator, am I right? Well, I have mixed feelings about it... It looks just like pikmin, only with a different atmosphere in it. Also, I don't think I fully enjoy its 2.5D engine, it's more suitable for SimCity in my opinion. Still, the gameplay looks solid, I'll keep an eye on it, even if I think I won't be getting it.
Lego City Undercover: This is the game that made me go WTF. It's a Lego game but it looked more like GTA, and seeing legos with a voice was... I don't know, wrong? No, not really wrong, it was just weird. It looks well made but nothing I'm interested in. Still, another nice Wii U exclusive, a GTA game that even children can play? Maybe.
Nintendoland: Nintendo shouldn't forget about the casual gamers, since 75% of the Wii owners are only interested in Wii Fit and Wii Sports. This was a good option for casual gamers, a collection of games that show what the new controller can do. I'm not all that interested in this one either, but the big N can't forget the casual market now, and this is a good option for the satisfied casual Wii owners. I hate saying "casual" and "hardcore" by the way, I'll just stop it here.
Paper Mario: I love the series. The new videos didn't show anything new, but I like the game and I'll be getting it, maybe when it'll be cheap.
Luigi's Mansion: Good for the 3DS owners, but I never played the original and I'm not planning to buy this. A friend of mine will be getting it though, maybe I'm going to give it a try.
The Last of Us: I was unimpressed when I was watching the gameplay. Nothing interesting, just Uncharted meets Fallout, an adventure-shooting game set in a post-apocalyptic world. The story looks good, but not enough to buy a game as far as I saw.
Beyond: Voilà , this is the TRUE exclusive that Sony fans should be happy with. Anyone who played Heavy Rain will sure be excited for this, Quantic Dream are masters of story telling. I don't own a PS3 myself, but I played this game with a friend of mine that does, and it was fantastic, so intriguing, I can't imagine what the French teem came up with this time, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Watch Dogs: My game of the show. I highly hope it comes out for the Wii U, so that I have one more reason to buy it, but if it doesn't I'll simply pick up the Xbox360 version. I like the fact that it's not a simple shooter, I usually hate shooters in fact. The atmosphere is mysterious, tense, a must buy for me!
Assassin's Creed III: I enjoyed the stealthiness of the first one, and I loved the medieval feeling in the second one. After ignoring Brotherhood and Revelations, I think it's time to get this new one, running in the snowy locations must be an experience! What's more, it looks like the series came back to its stealth roots with this new one.
Tomb Raider: I'd bang Lara, but the game is unimpressive.
Fire Emblem Awakening: I never played a Fire Emblem game because I suck at strategy, I'm probably the worst chess player in the world, I can only beat my sister, anyone could win even a tictactoe battle with me... But it's a good news. Personally, I'm more into Paper Mario, but Intelligent Systems sure is working a lot for the 3DS. Bright future for the handheld.
Halo 4: I don't like shooters in general, first person shooters even less... But let me tell you something. My friends and I do what we love to call an Halo Night every now and then, which is basically spending an entire night playing Halo, eating junk food and drinking tons of beer. Not that we're 16 years old or something, but this is how the adolescent in me manifests himself haha. I obviously always lose, I run out of ammos and I'm not very precise, but we always have a great time. Playing Halo 4 in my friend's basement while watching the dawn from the rooflights is definitely something I'm looking forward to. I'm not buying the game myself, but he'll do, and it'll be death!
So, while I was writing this I saw a video on IGN, a demo of Project P-100 for the Wii U, and actually it doesn't look half bad! I'll keep an eye on it.
I heard a lot of humors that it's going to be very powerful, a lot more than the present consoles. I highly hope so, so that it can get multi platforms games... I've always been kind of skeptical about the tablet controllers though. I love the fact that it has got two analog sticks, so that we can adjust the camera again when playing Zelda, but I hope that the touch screen won't be used just for minigames and minor stuff, thing that happened in most cases with the Wii's motion control system. I won't even be able to watch Nintendo's presentation at E3 because I have the huge physical chemistry examthe day after, and I suck at that. I've always been on Nintendo's side among the big three, mostly because the big N owns my childhood, but even because when Nintendo wants to create a good game, it creates a very good game, forget about wario ware and mario sport mix. However, I'd be sad if my console didn't get Portal 3, Silent Hill 7 and stuff, and I'm planning to buy just one console (I'm not rich), so Nintendo'd better give me one more good reason to stay with them.
What do you all think about the Wii U? I'm still pretty interested in it, even though I'm skeptical
Oh by the way I bought a violin! I'm learning the Wind Waker title screen song! I'll put a video if I become good enough!
What I have to do:
Study for finals
prepare for practical examinations
Write lab reports
Clean my room
Find out why the fck I haven't been receiving warm water for like 4 months
What I want to do:
Play guitar/piano
Silent Hill 2 + 3 HD
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Resitent Evil 4
Fragile Dreams
Finish Xenoblade
Finish Last Story
Run in the fields, free and without exams in front of me!
Also, can't wait for E3 2012, Nintendo's gonna show us some good stuff I reckon. Also, Project Zero 2 is coming out for the Wii in Europe. Project Zero is known in the states under the name Fatal Frame, in Japan it's as well known as Silent Hill and Resident Evil, it didn't quite make it the West though... I'm glad that the Wii's final breath will be a must have Japanese horror! As much as I don't like mangas and anime, the jappos create horror stories that no one else can think of. And they said that Japanese videogames are dying...

I'm going to see a lot of bands in november! Fleet Foxes, Orphaned Land, Explosions in the Sky, Opeth and Low! Amazing! Also, the new Zelda comes out this november, yeah! Anyway, that Zelda is the only game I'm really excited about... I'll probably get Skyrim in march when the price decreases, and maybe the new Assassin's Creed... Well, games are starting becoming boring, always the same stuff... Except for this one! http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/560874
