"Fire Norv! We want Marty back!"

"Fire Kaeding!"

Comments I'm reading on Facebook are just sad. I can somewhat understand Kaeding (he's been chocking in playoffs ever since) but Norv? Norv is a great coach. But the way I see it, if Norv doesn't attempt to improve, he'll be like Marty - Led the Chargers into the playoffs but never to the superbowl.

Kaeding is a good kicker but he can't afford to choke in playoffs. Niether should Rivers.

GOD **** DAMNIT I have to listen to ESPN talk about the Jets and how amazing they are for another week.

Fizzman

It was annoying hearing them talk so much smack about the Chargers and how amazing the Jets were during the Sprint Half-time show. Ugh, Nate Kaeding. Nine points. Not even two. Not to mention the penalties.

You know, alot of people complained about the Colts losing against the Jets, ruining their perfect season but looking at it now, it was probably the best thing for Colts fans everywhere.

There's always next year.

I have to admit, I was worried about 1st quarter. Ball went to high for Rivers and Kaeding missed a field goal (and then in 2nd quarter). But we're 7-0 in our favor. Lets go Bolts! :D

Maybe they think that it's because of our founding fathers being Christian, listening to the media, or our motto In God We Trust. The truth is that many of our influential founding fathers were highly critical of religion and some were even Deists. The Treaty of Tripoli says clearly that the USA isn't a Christian Nation, and our motto In God We Trust was never our official motto at the time. In God We Trust was added to our coins probably after the Civil War and later, in the 1950s, the motto became our offical motto replacing E. Pluribus Unum and appearing on our dollars to differentiate ourselves from the Godless Soviet Union. ***edit*** Also, One Nation, Under God was added in the 1950s and when the president says so help me God, that was never part of the pledge according to our constitution. But it was a tradition started by Washington and continued on to today.

A comic-relief character that feels out of place. Ex: Those two transformer twins in and *shudder* Jar Jar Binks.

I'm currently reading While Europe Slept. It's an interesting book and I'm very surprised with Europe own domestic and immigration problems.

Of government money? Not really. The space race was essential and NASA did bring in some new technology. Unfortunately, after the moon landing, no one really gave a darn about space anymore. Plus the Columbia and Challenger disasters. Recently, I watched Penn and Teller do a show on NASA saying that it should be privatized which sounds like a good idea.

[QUOTE="HKK91"][QUOTE="Hot-Tamale"] Haha, well, when you think about it, auditing the Fed IS regulating an economic entity, something that Ron Paul is vehemently against (even if the Fed's job is to control the money supply; if Paul gets his way we'll be back to the Gilded Age with a gold standard and everything. Hell-o Great Depression 2.0).

Hot-Tamale

It's more about the constitutionality of the Federal Reserve considering it's a privately owned bank. Also, it's been responsible for the Great Depression and other recessions in the past. Plus, our dollar is losing much of its value and what's wrong with the gold standard? It's much more reliable than relying on the confidence of the consumer.

When England re-adopted the gold standard after World War 1, it destroyed the country. The gold standard didn't prevent the countless recessions and depression that occured throughout the Gilded Age, so why would it help now? It's just an excuse for the rich to argue against regulation.

I don't know much about that much didn't England have a massive empire going on at the time? The gold standard is just a backing, not something that will prevent recessions. Recessions in a capitalist society will always happen and it's natural. With no govt' interferece, it gets better overtime.

It's Michael Moore so take it with a grain of salt. He usually distorts the truth and a great example is Bowling for Columbine, which is utter BS. He states that the NRA was formed under the influence of the KKK even though the NRA was founded by union officers, he edited Charlton Heston's speech to make him as if he didn't give a damn about the kids in Columbine, and when comparing European countries to the United States on gun crime, he failed to mention that those countries' crime rate only rose when gun control was implemented such as Great Britain. Michael Moore is going to give a one-sided argument in his documentaries but he's an interesting guy to listen to, critize, praise, or whatever.
