hd7870 is fifty dollars less(at least it is here in the states) and it benches better in most games & at higher resolutions than a 660ti

200 bucks is for 32gb of ddr3. My budget is 1k, was thinking of maximizing ram instead of cpu/gpu. Will play around with a better gpu with 8gb ram. Thanks for the help.decayorganic

is amd really that bad of a processor that everyone makes it out to be? reviews on newegg and amazon are highly favorable for both intel and amd fx series processors...It seems like either or is a win for myself.

also possibly looking at amd's hexacore fx-series, the 6200, what do you think about processors that use more than four cores?

i see price for performance leaning towards amd, due to the fact that a 2500k is still almost two hundred dollars, and its not really new anymore. i keep perusing tom's hardware and other places for benchmarks, and I really can't see which ones are reliable(some have Intel smashing Amd, others not so much)

Weak CPU, overkill PSU from a brand I wouldn't trust, unknown brand on the RAM too though I'm not saying that it's bad, can't find any professional review on the case either. Just all in all I would definitely not do that for a 1k dollar build.spittis

230 dollar processor with a 200 dollar mobo? i really dont want to spend that much money, there is just no way to stay around a thousand dollars with that kind of setup

i dont see why amd gets no love. a quad core that clocks at 4.2 ghz? how is that bad at all? im not crazy tech savvy, but it seems like everyone hates amd for no good reason
