I've reconfigured it, when it goes to the Connection test page I'm 'successful' in obtaining an IP address and Internet Connection but the PSN is 'failed'. There's no firewall/third party software blocking my access to the router, it's just this problem I can't sign into the PSN using the PS3. I can do so with the PSP so its not a problem with the account, but the console itself.

Yeah I am using a wireless connection. It won't sign me in at all, just comes up with the error. There's no fault with the internet connection as I'm connected to it right now with my laptop and can browse using the PS3.

I tried that, unfortunately it was unsuccessful. You say its a common error so do you think it might be something which resolves itself or is it actually the PS3 failing? Reason I ask is because several people said they had to send the PS3 off to Sony for repair, something I'd rather not do. I'm really hoping it's nothing major

I think if you go to play an online game, it will check if you have the latest roster and if not you'll be asked to download it. Atleast that's what I think it is!

Hey guys, switched my PS3 on today and could not sign into the PSN at all. I keep getting a message saying "An error has occured. You have been signed out of PSN". The error code is 8001050F. I searched the internet for a solution but could not find one. The PS3 itself works fine, the games still play and I can still use the internet browser. I used my PSP to sign into the PSN so there has to be a fault with the PS3 itself. Any ideas how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Please Help I really want to play online again.

I want to buy a new amplifier for my PS3 and have come across the Onkyo TX-SR606 as being one of the cheapest. Just asking as the Onkyo has HDMI inputs for audio and is able output Dolby TrueHD would this be a good buy for the PS3? Also would this mean that I'd need to connect the PS3 to the Onyko using another HDMI cable to output 'TrueHD', meaning I'd have 2 HDMI wires connected to the PS3 (1 for TV & 1 for Onkyo).

Thanks for the help.
