A BIG change for me

Well, I started my new job on the Friday that just passed by. I'm working in a kitchen at a Golf course. Now this is not some old grubby golf course, but a golf course for those who have money (park and lot is full of BMW's, Corvettes, Mercedes, you get the picture). I have never actually worked before (Co-op not included), and I was a little afraid not knowing what to expect. A good friend of mine practically got me the job, and even said to me that he thinks im a better worker than himself and his brother. I chuckled at that knowing I am acctually a lazy person, but I do work hard when there is incentive I (Grades and Money$$$). I had to go through a lot of BS to get the job too, police check, void check, and I also had to wait an extra week for the contract to be completed. Acctually, I found out through the police check that there is a guy in Canada with the same name as me, same height, same weight, and same age. Only difference is our date of birth and that the other guy has tattoos on his arms. By the way, he doesn't have a good record by any means.

My first day of work wasn't terrible, but it was long. I was working from 2pm-10:45pm and was responsible for closing (in other words clean up everthing). Washing dishes wasn't so bad, but the dishes were fairly hot, and some of the pans were really hot to the point that they would burn you. I had to sweep the floor and mop at the end of the day. Fetch things for the cooks. Today I also worked again, and they did not give me any sort of break. My shift started at 8 in the morning and lasted until 2:15 in the afternoon(got off early, shift really ended at 4). It's only about a five minute bike from my house too. Today I was also washing dishes, cleaning the floor, fetching food, cutting bread and potatoes.

I'm not a wuss by any means, and I do realise two of my friends from school and my other 2 friends (ones in University and the others from another school) have been working at the kitchen for a couple weeks now and have not given up. Even though I am going to get lots of hours (full time job), its not really what I was looking for. I really am not in desparate need of money like others who need it for rent of other things (alcohol). My plan was to get a part-time job where I may work 15-20 hours a week. Not only is this a lot of hours, but its also hard work (40 hours a week minimum, this is the average work week for most people, but the hours in the kitchen are not 9-5). I finished a rough semester this year where I would get home at 4:30 everyday. Co-op killed me, and I have gotten into worse shape (havn't been biking, working out, or running), because I didn't have the will to do so after suffering through co-op. I cannot explain how bad it was. I lost hope, it completly turned my career outlook away from medicine and towards something else that I am not aware of yet (kind of funny, but I was hoping to become a doctor, I want to help people and I enjoy biology). My employer was a b**** to me. The point being is that I would like to relax this summer, and get back into the shape I was before this year. Unfortuanetly this much work kind of prevents this, thus I do not feel I should work for very long. My plan is to either work for 2-4 weeks, that way I get the pay cheques and a decent pay to purchase something like games. It may seem brutal, but I really do not want to work that much this summer, not many people do. Also, by working I will not be able to go to soccer, SO F*** work! I figure if I work 4 weeks I'll make about $1300. I already have $300 from the birthday money I got from my parents (my birthday is next week,I have a dentist appointment that day, then I must work for the rest of the day, see what I mean by to much work)

I have already said that one thing I'm getting is Planet Earth. My parents plan on getting a 1080P, 50" or larger LCD tv this Christmas. This means I'm going to buy this series in HD so I can watch them in HD then. From my understanding, Blu-Ray is winning right now. I havn't completely decided to go with it, but I'm looking into it. That means I need a Blu-Ray player, hmmmm.

New Blog to continue this will be created on Monday, my day off work. Tommorrow I work 11:00 to 8:00. Half decent shift because I don't have to close.
