Halo 2, A Gaming Delicacy

About 3 years ago I tasted something so sweet, something so absolutely beautiful that I knew it was special. This taste was a taste of gaming. What game was so delicious that it would forever change the lives of many, including myself, you ask? This game was none other than Halo: Combat Evolved. It has been proclaimed "System-Seller," "Game of the Year," and, yes, "Delicious." But now, over month after I've plaid and beaten it's sequel, I ask, is Halo 2 also a fantastic and sensual gaming experience? Yes, yes it is. When I think of the Halo series, I no longer think only of the original's story (unveiling of the Flood was brilliant!), or it's fantastic graphics, sound, control or gameplay. I also think of the first time I was able to play as an Elite in both single and multiplayer components of it's sequel, as it expands on all of the aformentioned elements. Halo 2 is something so un-containably delectable, so simply pure in gameplay, so flawless in theory and execution that it sits next to it's prequel in my mind as the Best Game Ever. Yes, I know it was hard for Bungie to back up that fine piece of gaming history that left gamers drooling, but they pulled it off, and in one swift motion, also stole my heart away. Halo 2 is truly a gaming delicacy and should not be missed by anyone, with or without an X-Box. It's a circular slice of heaven, just waiting to be plaid.
