Hey all. I'm missing my PC Aficionado for little over 2 days now... It has disappeared before, but for about 10 hours or so... This is a valid request?

So i dont know what to buy. Can you give me any suggestions? I like FPS, RTS, and racing games. I was thinking of getting Rainbow Six Vegas. Is this game any good? I know that it has nice graphics, but does it has good gameplay, good multiplayer mode? Otherwise, i was also thinking of getting STALKER, maybe Test Dirve Unlimited, Supreme Commander, GTR2. Is there any good game that will be released whitin 2 weeks? Any recommendations are helpfull. Thanks in advance.

Heck, I would take all these games if I were you. And if you're looking for a good game with good multiplayer (And it's racing, BTW) then I'll recommend TrackMania Nations ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup). Good single and multiplayer.

You can use a floppy, burn it to a CD or use a flash drive, as long as you find the proper program to flash it with and the correct BIOS update on the motherboard manufacturers website. Here's a steby-step guide to how it's done: BIOS UPDATE Here is what you should do:

-> Go to the motherboard manufacturers website and find the BIOS update, download it

-> On the website, you should find information on the procedure you should follow. Read this carefully!

-> Take a floppy disk and format it

-> Install the program and the BIOS update file (usually a .bin file) on the floppy

-> Insert floppy in drive

-> Reboot PC

-> Enter your BIOS and make sure the floppy driver is the first boot device (if not, change it and use the motherboard manual to find where you can alter this setting)

-> Boot PC

-> Your floppy is going to be read and you should come in a text-based environment (called DOS)

-> Run the program (remember, the procedure on the website???)

-> Follow instructions carefully

-> Let the program flash the BIOS

-> When the program tells you to shut down or reset, do so (NOT earlier!)

Whatever you do: DO NOT PRESS THE RESET OR POWER BUTTON while flashing. If you do, say goodbye to your motherboard!! And having a power outage is like the same thing, so make sure you either have a UPS or a bit of luck!DirkVDV01

A. how i can format Floppy? (or that's just putting the .bin file in the Floppy?).

B. will it have any effect on the Hard Drive?

i have the latest graphic card drivers, audio card drivers and all the updates. all i have left to update is my BIOS. I've tried at the manufacture of the motherboard (Intel) and it said that i need some storage devise. how i update my BIOS, because i only have one computer, and if I'll do something wrong then i'm screwed... I'll need a 100% fool-proof step-by-step description. P.S.: do i have to use a storage devise? I'll use the update on this computer, so i don't need to transfer the files... also, will it delete my Hard Drive? because of all the games' saves (and the games themselves)...

I'll appreciate any help, thanks.

specs: 3.0 Ghz Processor (Intel, Pentium IV), 512 MB RAM (DDR), 80 GB Hard Drive, GeForce 6200 TC (256 MB V-RAM), CRT Screen - 17 inch, Windows XP - Pro. (from signature).

motherboard: D915PGN (Intel).

[QUOTE="Generalkill8888"][QUOTE="macpop"][QUOTE="Generalkill8888"]inyourface_12 You have your e6300 overclocked to 2.6 on a P5NSLI motherboard. How is that possible? When I had that board I could not get passed 2.0...TDuiker

:lol: yea, i think he said thats gonna be his clock when he gets the 650i, to me the 650i looks horible ill rather get the 680i :D

650i is basically the same is the 680i, just 8x SLI PCIE lanes and other non-fancy stuff that the 680i has :D

id rather have 2 16X lanes with 2 8800GTX..

now that sounds good....

here's the solution! Game Shadow is a program that check your PC for games, check the games in the company's servers and show you if you have the latest version of Halo, C&C games and even demos! the program is small (about 5 MB), can run EVEN on Windows 95 and is free!, get it here. (i'm using it and i recommend it).
