Your basic connection is in your case DSL. If your PS3 is far from your router then i suggest you get a long range wireless router. The one i showed you is the best value i can think of. Wireless N is has the longest range so far.

If you get a wireless router then setup is pretty easy. Basically you go on settings to network connections i think then you scan for a wireless router and you can choose which one to connect to.

Since PS3 supports Wifi you dont need an extra ethernet cable to hook up to the ps3 via the router. If you have a PC Desktop/laptop near you are either going to need an ethernet cable to hook up from the router to the computer.

Sorry didnt notice you said you had a DSL Modem. Okay so first things first, you are going to need a wireless or a wired router so that you can use your internet service for multiple platforms (Desktop, laptop, Xbox, PS3). I would reccomend this netgear router as i have it myself http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7831518&st=router&lp=7&type=product&cp=2&id=1142296157228

Once you have ur DSL Modem and Router ready, take an Ethernet Cable http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5688874&st=ethernet+cable&type=product&id=1055389307147

and hook it up from ur Modem to ur Router. From their on ur pretty much set

You can rip music from a CD or stream music from your computer or MP3 player.CradleXX

I would rip music from a CD but that just takes to long. I wish their was USB connectivity between a pc and the 360 to transfer files. I find the best way to get music on my 360 by streaming music from my pc.
