The gravemind creates units. A grevemind could be the flood base. In fact the flood unit creation would be the only realistic one. Different units could be infected humans, elites, brutes etc, as well as the leech thing, the exploding dudes and those morphing things that shoot spikes. Vehicles would indeed be a problem however, I agree. They would have to be pretty much ommitted, but the flood could be able to board, like the Spartans do (since they can in Halo 2 and I think in Halo 3). I really want playable flood in a DLC.
