I've received quite a few games in the short space of last week which have been keeping me busy a fair bit although adding to the games I have to complete lol.
I bought Street Fighter IV, received my Saints Row 2 and just now bought Braid at the special 30% off price.
Here are my quick impressions for all except Braid since I am yet to play it.
Street Fighter IV
Surprisingly I have not played this as much but I have managed to complete the arcade mode as the fat new character Rufus, it is truly an extraordinary game from the gorgeous visuals to the addicting gameplay. I'm not usually a fighting game person however the chance to play another round of Street Fighter immensity after so many years could simply not be missed. The game is very fun and contains many more modes and unlockables to keep gamers enticed for months to come.
My skills have faded over the years but the game is very accessible to anyone, there are 7 difficulty levels so everyone will find the right level for them.
This is simply a great fun game to have in your collection and whip out occasionally, especially if you have mates round. A game like Street Fighter IV will last years to come and will be one of those game you will want to return to every now and again for a few fights. That said I personally cannot play it in long sessions, but rather in short concentrated bursts however it is still an amazing game that I recommend to anyone.
Saints Row 2
This is the game that has occupied most of my time this week and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, I never really expected the game to be quite so good. I like everything about it, the world, the story, the characters, cars, weapons, the entire game just sucks you in from the first moment with hilariously customisable characters and so many side missions and diversions that its quite insane. This is all quite good for me since I'm a bit of a completionist and this game will keep me occupied for a long, long time.
I wont go on too much about the game itself, but overall it is truly a great game and heavily echoes as the true next-gen sequel to GTA: San Andreas. Despite this I personally do not think that Saints Row 2 and GTAIV should be compared, they are quite different apart from the fact that its an open world crime game. The whole atmosphere and story is just completely different, Saints Row takes itself much less seriously and seems to be a lot more random fun whereas GTAIV is more serious and everything seems to be a tint of grey. Nether the less I love both games and I recommend both, but if you have to choose get GTAIV is you liked GTA3, get Saints Row 2 if you liked GTA: San Andreas. (I guess my whole don't compare the two thing just flew out the window :P)
That's my impressions on the two games and I will post up about Braid sometime soon when I get time to play it
