maybe its all part of Kojimo's plan to make an MGS5 with Raiden that everyone will buy and hate (except for the select few who like him) then come back with kickass mgs6 snakes return!!
I know he can be really annyoing (MGS SERIES) but ther emaking a game as him as the main character, for the 360 and PS3, but erioulsy he killed his own dad, and his new suit is pretty badass. i really dont hate the guy.do you though and why?

People hate Raiden for two reasons only. 1) Because they were forced to play him in MGS2 without being told in advance he was the focus of the game. 2) He represents an unwelcome "asian" intrustion into what has been primarily a North American type game. By that I mean, the effeminite, androgenous, looks-like-a-girl character often seen in many asian RPGs instead of the butch, american-styled characters that MGS has been built on.
I agree with you for the most part, but I haven't even played MGS2 yet. I just hate his feminine looks, his high heel boots really bother me, his whiny attitude. I mean, who wants to look up to that guy? Who thinks those kind of characteristics are cool?
Snake = America Radien = Japan Snake is more believable. He's a hardcore badass killing machine. Snake became tough through experience, training, and hard work. Raiden was operated on and became a Cyborg. He didn't have to work for that at all, most he had to do was a few weeks or maybe months of rehab. After that he had immense strength and skill that he didn't earn. Radien is this flippy dorky ninja + a whiner. and ***SPOILER*** the part where Raiden stops the ship from hitting snake at the end of shadow mosses was REALLLY DUMB I don't care how strong you are, your not going to stop something with that much mass with a little person. Even if raiden was strong enough to hold it back there's no way he could get enough traction on the ground to hold it. It was a failed attempt to make Raiden look cool... So Raiden might be cool to you if you enjoy Japanese things, but in my opinion American things are cooler. And before some yuts starts screaming racist... shut up. Its what appeals to me. Also I found his high heel boots really annoying in MGS 4... I mean come on... He can grab a sword with them... Who cares, they are still high heel boots on a dude. By all means, he shouldn't even be able to run in them.
