For artistic style, Windwaker is among some of the best. I also recently took it off the shelf for a spin and totally agree. But I'm looking from an artistic standpoint. There are other games that marvel Windwaker because of game art. Even if it is cel-shaded or has totally futuristic graphics, what boils down is the games art rendering. If a graphically high end game such as Call of Duty: World at War (PS3) didn't have it's own unique art style then it would look like trash to me. Particularly, my favorite games in terms of art and graphics together (Nintendo) are: Killer7, Super Mario Galaxy, WindWaker, and I will say that despite criticism, Metroid Prime 3 is stunning.
