Assassin's Creed 3--tree jumping!

and I know they haven't officially released any info on it yet, but Dragon Age 3. Cause I have hope. Throw off the shackles of EA, Bioware! I know you can do it!

1st, I just have to congratulate everyone being all civil about this. Ask that question on the Bioware formus and everything disolves into madness.

I think DAO does it for me more, but I still enjoyed DA2 for the most part. DA2 bothered me for many of the reasons already listed (reused dungeons, two-way ending, somewhat bland backgrounds and design for the darkspawn etc.) but I was still pulled into the plot with some excellent characters to back me up along the way. I found the dlc to also be pretty damn sweet. On whole, DA2 felt a little rushed though.

I always wondered how much EA was the one pushing to get the game out whereas Bioware would have preferred a longer time period to polish it off. It didn't seem like them to shove it out so quick.

Well....nice to see that they're putting something out there to semi-appease the howling masses and that it's free.

I don't mind the ending have a sort of vagueness to it or if you couldn't save everything and everyone because that would fit the darker tone of the ME series, but it was missing a fundamental part of endings: that they should make sense.Sections of it, logically, were jumbled and confusing. What really bothered me was that, by simply playing the campaign and ignoring multiplayer or their other IOS stuff, it's nearly impossible to get a high enough EMS to achieve certain endings. I felt cheated by that.

Otherwise, the complaining is getting rather tiresome unless someone's talking rationally and not simply yelling about it. I don't mind the discussion but not the yammering.

[QUOTE="4dr1el"]

Why MGS4 and Heavy Rain are called "movies" yet Mass Effect series are not? I swear, I spent more time talking in that game than actually playing it (and no, choosing dialogue options is not what I consider "gameplay")

discuss

rzepak

Heavy Rain was called a movie cause it was one long QTE, MGS4 was called a movie cause it had a hella lot of uninteractive vidoes. Mass Effect has alot of talking but during all that talking you make decisions that influence your characters actions. Also this thread is a giant piece of fail and should be burned because you are comapring a stealth action game with an adventure game and an rpg...seriously, common sense look it up.

Thank you for speaking lovely lovely truth.

I'm going to link to Giantbomb cause they're brilliant and hit what I wanted to say right on the money : http://www.giantbomb.com/news/everybody-hates-ea-apparently/4070/

Seriously, EA isn't that great, but there are plenty worse. Well, maybe this'll tell them to listen up--or maybe they'll simply rub their money all over themselves and plug their ears with it.

[QUOTE="spike6958"]I know mine won't be a popular choice but I've gotta give to Dragon Age: Origins. No other game this gen has captivated me the way that did, the characters, the story, the combat, I loved everything about the game, and it's one of the few games this gen that I have done multiple playthroughs of.SkinnyJeans1995

Yes, yes, and yes!!

I think I've done around 7 playthroughs cause I just can't stay away. The characters, the quests, and the worldare amazing. Even the different origin stories you startout with are incredible in their ability to grab hold of you and make you care about the circumstances you've been thrust into and the people you're leaving behind. I don't particularly care for dwarves, but those two origins were brilliant. Love it.

I have played many current gen games multiple times. For example, I have played Uncharted 2 19 times for a total single player time of 150-175 hours. Somewhere around that number of hours

Playing a game multiple times is a pretty good indicator--for me anyway--that it was a good game.Maybe not the best, but it's a sign that you enjoyedit. I've played theAssassin's Creed games quite a number of times as well and they'd be on my 'best game of this gen' list too. It's hard to pick just one as they differ so much and should be credited for their achieviments in different ways as well.

All in all, I think it was brilliant. One of my fav series of the last 10 years besides the Assassin's Creed ongoing stuff. I love the attention to writing and characters that Bioware is so careful to craft along with the game mechanics. I've played the first 2 over and over and, while I'm a little more hesitant to say I'm looking forward to playing ME3 as many times, it was a really incredible sci-fi journey.

I have to say though, I'm really looking forward to when the hate for the ME3 ending dulls a little. Not that I don't agree that it was bad, but the constant hate and aimlessly directed spitefull comments are really tiring.

Bioware, you still have my love.

I used to love Star Wars. I used to be proud of Star Wars. Then George Lucas started doing anything to keep the money train rolling.

Honestly, the mechancis of the game look awful as if the developersput aslittle effortas possibleinto any aspect of its design or implementation. I'm not sure if I want to curl up in a corner or just shake my head pityingly at it. If George really wants to be honest about thing, he should just put the word Star Wars on empty boxes and demand money. That way at least he's not continually corrupting what used to be a pretty sweet thing.

I used lots of different types of pencil grades--charcoal smudges too easy for me when I'm working all over the page with my silly process of drawing.

That is really good, and that makes me think of this...

That is drawn well enough that I think the skills can now be put to better use. It's like, when you're first learning how to draw, it's plenty okay to just draw badass videogame characters in badass poses. That's absolutely fine. But those kinds of drawings generally just inherently come off as sort of soulless.

Even videogame box art often has stuff like the badass space marine interacting with his environment in some way. You know, rescuing some space refugees or shooting a space alien...somethingthat just sort of gives off a little bit more visual or emotional interest.

This drawing here looks really good. I can honestly say that it looks better than the vast majority of drawings I've seen posted here, and is far more well-drawn than anything I'm ever going to be able to do. In fact, it's so well-drawn that my number one complaint right now is that content-wise, it's still your basic "videogame/action-figure character pose". This person can draw plenty well enough that right now what I want most is to see him/her put that skill towards making drawings that actually make mefeel something. Play around with more interesting compositions, have the character interacting with environments, give me a reason to care about the character (or at the very least, feel something when I look at the drawing).

MrGeezer

Funny enough, I do agree with you. It's just I usually don't have a whole lot of extra time anymore to spend on making it other than what I can glean from a picture--I did all of this at school in a cIass. I wasn't supposed to be drawing anyway haha. I want to get into more 'scene' artwork rather than character figures and get some more emotionally evocative pieces instead of the stoic pose. Thanks for the honest feedback!
