CES 2011 Hit Or Miss?

CES 2011. Hit or miss? You decide!

Personally, I think it was fairly well done, and a hit! My reasons? Simple.
CES stands for Consumer Electronics Show.. It may have been a bit disappointing because no big news or revolutions came into play.. But all participating companies and manufacturers expanded on existing technology to make it more accessible to the common consumer. For Example, 3DTV's are a big thing these days, what once you could only see in a theatre you can now enjoy in the comfort of your own home and in your own theatre.. Providing you have the money to buy the expensive tv's and paired glasses.. But that's looking to change now. 3DTV's will inevitably lose steam, and drop in price much like LCD and Plasma screen's did and that's what is seems to be happening. Manufacturers are making the 3DTV's price.. A little easier on the consumer pockets. Don't expect any amazing blowout deals, but it's a start and a step in the right direction.
There was some cool things too like the OnLive service being incorporated within certain TV's and Sony's thinnest blu-ray player, and the touch screen remotes for new upcoming TV's, the 3D headset from Sony that look like it came from Star Trek.. These are all great things, but I can see where people feel like it sucked because.. We're gamers and when we think of Microsoft and Sony we think they're going to make some big announcements like the PSP2, or PSP Phone.. Or Kinect for PC, perhaps software updates, big game announcements.. Etc. It is a bit disappointing in that sense but look on the bright side.. Consumer Electronics Show.. This year, made an effort to focus on the consumer and technology and items that are months and only a couple years away at an affordable price point for the common household.. I'd say that's a pretty good move and I'm sure willing to welcome some more.

I mean, we still got E3 and so many other video game conventions to look forward to right? Lets not get hung up on one and focus on what matters.. The games we have now. Thanks.

Welcome!

This a blog I'm starting up to get more involved in the gaming community across many other sites.
First I'll start of with introducing myself. The name's Jamie, I'm an avid gamer. I've been gaming since I was a toddler, completing super mario bros. on the NES with my sister when I was two years old, crying when I was seven and saw the mako reactor blow up in Final Fantasy 7 and thought it was game over, and more recently completing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood with 100% sync.

Everyone has their own track record of games they've beaten and amazing feats and crazy stunts they've pulled in games, I'm not here to brag. I'm just hear to talk about games, the new releases, upcoming releases, all game related news, reviews for games... The works. Think of it as a perspective from one gamer to another.

My goal is to give an unbiased viewpoint, an opinion on all game related material and matter. If that sounds good to you, click subscribe. Future plans that stem from this include a YouTube channel with strategies, tips, tricks, reviews and walkthroughs of games.. But Rome wasn't built in a day.

As time goes by if you find yourself interested in my view and discussions and want to game, don't hesitate to add me on Xbox, PS3, and Steam. I'd say add me on Wii, but that whole friend-code system is a mess..

So in conclusion, I hope you enjoy your stay! this blog will be filled with content before you know it. Stay tuned for more info!
