Alpha Protocol Review

Finally completed Alpha Protocol...
...and where do I begin. Hmmmm

The game started out pretty cool. Choosing how you want to setup your characters traits - run and gun, stealthy, or "inspector gadget". Then youtry to "escape" a medical facility... I won't get into any spoilers... but "escape" is in quotations for a reason.

Eventually you begin your career as an agent, travelling to world destination ranging from 'Khazakistan' to Moscow to Taipei and to Rome. Choosing where you'd like to begin, so not necessarily in the orderI posted.

Every action you make and every conversation attitude you take, ultimately changes the ending. So there are, from what I comprehend, a plethora of different endings.

The storyline is slow IMO, and by the end of it all, I was just running through to get the game done.

The equipment is tangible and too expensive. You pretty much have to decide the kind of character you want to be from the beginning when you buy your equipment throughout the game.
The gadgets (grenades and such) are fun to use for a change from shooting. Using the noise maker to pull an unsuspecting goon to your location and then popping out to perform a CQC takedown never gets old... there are several different animations for the silent takedowns. I always love the quick punch to the throat!

Some of the bugs in the game are extremely annoying since it involves whether or not you obtain an achievement. So for achievement whores, this is "COD rage" waiting to happen. If you've played the game, then you will understand that you ONLYhave toplay the game twice to get all the achievements... and getting such bugs is beyond aggrivating.

I just began the game again on Hard as a Veteran... and to be honest, I am not looking for ward to it.

Th overall fun and enjoyment of the game is a saving grace. The use of a silenced pistol, stealth armor, and stealthy takedowns made me really enjoy it overall. I gave it a 7.0, but i'm still up in the air about it.

Hope this helps.

Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns

I just finished listening to the entire album, andI have to say I am not impressed... I think I was anticipating something more, especially fromthe first released song on the album being 'The Catalyst' sounding more like thier older stuff.

Most of the tracks are slow, and a few of them sound very similar. There are however a couple of good songs that are more along the lines of what Linkin Park should sound like - Blackout and The Catalyst - which, in my opinion, make the album. There are also a couple of slower songs that I think have a nice harmony and tone, but this album does not sound like Linkin Park.

I find it too pop-like and not enough rock. Linkin park is a rockband, and thus should stick with the genre of music they were intended for - ROCK!

I give 'A Thousand Suns'- 4 out of 10

Thoughts on Pandorum

I watched Pandorum the other day... it was recommended to me by a friend. He was telling me it's similar to Dead Space... which was a phenomenal game!

I was enjoying the movie for the most part. I was chuckling at some of the stuff in the beginning because it was so close to being Dead Space. However, once the creatures came out to play, I found myself enjoying Pandorum less and less. I think I had higher expectations of the movie being closer to Dead Space.

Overall, the movie was enjoyable; the action was okay; the storyline was better than the action; the creepiness was great.
7.5/10 I think is a reasonable rating.
