The sound is a little heavy on the "bass," such as it is. a little tinny, but all the tunes seem intact, which is the main thing for most people. I'm maybe a fifth into it (approaching the Opera House) and thus far, no real complaints. Just lower-quality sound and unnecessary translation/renaming.
I've never heard anyone who actually owns a Micro complain about the size, only people who see it online or in stores and immediately write it off. It doesn't play original GB carts, though, which sucks. SP does and it has the backlit screen, although I never had any problems with my first-gen frontlit SP. Micro is cheaper, but it is discontinued and accessories are harder to find. So...if you're going to be playing old Game Boy games, or using a Game Link or other peripheral, get the SP; otherwise I'd get the Micro.
You know, it's not as though people are saying that Brady isn't a great QB -- well, some are, but they're idiots. Brady is clutch beyond belief and makes great throws, but he's not as accurate with the long ball as Peyton, he makes a few more questionable decisions (though they're both very good about that), and NOBODY reads a D like Peyton. Brady's got to be one of the top five QBs playing today on anyone's list; he's just not the best, in my view, and in the view of many.
Crazy idea, but maybe they're more concerned with gameplay? Either one would be cool. I think the Street Fighter series has better gameplay and a more iconic cast of characters, but MK could make cool use of the stylus as people have said, and, yes, take advantage of the DSs' graphic power. But I still play Alpha 3 and Super 2 on the GBA, and a straight port of one of those with the SNES button scheme would get $30 out of my wallet real quick.
It was Manning well before Super Bowl XLI. People forget that before Reggie Wayne, he had one guy worth a damn to throw to. It's not as though he's been handed this amazing career. Brady makes very few mistakes; Manning makes even fewer, and he has always known how to win. He's lost a few times in big situations and suddenly there's a label. It's beyond retarded. Manning is easily the best QB of our era and maybe the best pure pocket passer ever.
Um, Wal-Mart has the Micro new for $50, at least in my neck of the woods. Cheapest I've seen SP is $60. For 10 less you lose Game Boy/GB Color support, peripheral features including the link, and a smaller screen -- but the screen is beyond sharp and I completely disagree with hkc's comments on RPGs. I've been playing FFVI on mine for 4 hours and my eyes feel fine. The Micro also works just fine on the Street Fighter games, no problems with the buttons or D-pad. Also, I read on Wiki (so who knows how true it is) that the screen technology used on the Micro was ported over onto the new SPs, so the screen wouldn't be brighter. And the backlight has five adjustable levels, and I haven't NEEDED anything beyond the lowest setting yet. In the end, it's about you. If you, like me, cherish portability, have moderately good eyesight (20/40 over here), and want to save $10, go with the Micro. If you play with friends on Link a lot, or play tons of GB/GB Color games, go with the SP. They're both really nice.
