Um apparently you have either never seen a UFC fight, or at least not in 10 years or so. You cannot kick or knee someone to the head while they are on the ground, completely against the rules. There are a few orgs overseas that allow that, however it is still much safer than boxing. It is much more barbaric and deadly to be punched repeatedly in the head, and be allowed to continue after 8 count etc. In MMA it is over after some can no longer properly defend themselves, thus no one has EVER died from a MMA fight.
