HunkAtYourNeck Blog

Sorry iNiS, I broke the score counter.

Should've added another digit. Hidden mode, which offers a 1.5 point multiplier, lets you achieve more than 10 million points in the final song of Ouendan 2 on Hard and Insane modes. Beating Insane mode with a Perfect with Hidden mode, I managed somewhere above 10 million, but the score counter just says 9,999,999. Go me!

Wow, new blog post.

Since my last blog post I've bought a lot of games, but the highlight of those is no doubt Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, the sequel to my second favorite game of all time (the first being Resident Evil 4). Does Ouendan 2 surpass the original? I'm eager to say yes, but let me play through Insane mode to give you a definite conclusion. Also, I don't own Tenchu: Stealth Assassins; I actually have Tenchu: Shinobi Taizen on PSP but GameSpot won't let me add it to my collection (under the title Time of the Assassins) so I'm using the original Tenchu as a substitute.

Xenosaga=Dominated

I have successfully kicked Xenosaga's ass all over the place. I finally got around to beating the third game and it was an awesome package that ended well, if a but unsatisfying to some degree. Regardless, for those who managed to wade through the first two games will find Episode III to be a worthy conclusion.

In other news, I've ordered Bleach DS 2 and Tales of the Tempest for the DS; should be arriving any time now. Additionally, God of War II comes out soon and I must say it looks mighty impressive.

Ouendan? More like Ouend-OWNED, m i rite?

After being obliterated by Ready Steady Go on Hard mode in Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan over 400 times, I finally beat it and then flew through Very Hard mode in a night, and managed three Perfect runs on Ready Steady Go on Very Hard mode. Additionally, in Elite Beat Agents, I have a Perfect on every song in Hard ROCK mode except for Survivor.

Lately I picked up a few RPGs and my collection is steadily growing. The next games I add will likely be Jump! Ultimate Stars and Bleach DS 2.

Additionally, I went to see The Hitcher on a date and it kicked ass. Just as good as the original, but for different reasons. Definitely a good, hardcore, action/horror thriller.

Also, Hotel Dusk was amazing, and it lasted a surprising 18 hours as opposed to Trace Memory's measly six. Good buy for mystery-solving DS owners.

Jumpin jack flash, it's a gas, gas, gas!

So yeah, I caved in and bought Elite Beat Agents and totally conquered that game on every difficulty and am now working on getting Perfects on every song on Hard ROCK!! mode.

Fred Meyer was having some decent looking games on eight dollar clearance so I got Full Spectrum Warrior 2 and Driver 4, and may get The Warriors also, and I also got Children of Mana as well. I'm thinking of getting Kirby Squeak Squad as that looked fun. Also, Hotel Dusk Room 215 comes out next week and I'm dying to get it as EGM, my favorite gaming publication, gave it an 8, 8 and 10. Plus it's from the creators of Trace Memory and I love Trace Memory.

As far as school goes, I was assigned to do a presentation of Hydrogen in my chemistry class. My teacher said it was amazing that I raised the bar, and the class reaction was priceless. You can see it on YouTube here:

Demons, dancing, tomb raiders and alchemy out the ying-yang!

After searching wildly for an acceptable copy of Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, I finally got one (and I was about to resort to Ebay). Like the second Devil Saga, it kicks ass, and has the satisfying brutality and originality that most RPGs don't offer. Very happy I got it. During the same trip I managed to snag a copy of Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 11 for free, which I didn't even know was out yet. Woot for me! And not so wootish, Ready Steady Go in Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan on Hard mode continues to beat me bloody. Will I ever beat it? Likely not, but I will persist in attempt to.

In other news, Tomb Raider: Anniversary has been announced and I am very excited being the huge Tomb Raider fan that I am.

I beat Phoenix Wright 2 the other day, which was fantastic. Those anticipating the US release shant be disappointed. I also beat Final Fantasy XII (Game of the Year!), but I may go through that again and perform some serious sequence breaking.

And yes, I bought Zelda: Twilight Princess and am hardly pleased with it. A good game, but if there was ever one where the difficulty ruined the enjoyment it offered, it was this one. Despite it being rated T, it's seems like it was designed for five year olds. And for an action adventure game that focuses a lot on puzzles, the game never really forces me to think very much. Sue me, the game isn't very good. Deal.

Anyway, enjoy chewing me out. Have fun.
