Everybody can say that this is the successor to the DS, but we all really know that it won't be a significantly different product. It'll be yet another type of DS that gets "improved" upon after a year or two. I still have my fat DS, and I don't plan on getting a new one until my fatty dies. I haven't even used my DS in about a year, so I have no worries of it dying on me anyway.
