Good idea on FFD, totally forgot about that. I already have the latest drive for my card. Most of these problems I am just chalking up to R*'s ineptitude; I would understand them being able to shift the blame to hardware and software vendors if it were only a few problems... but this is just ridiculous. Now I just need to figure out how to remove the Display setting restictions.

Before you say anything, yes I have already tried: -norestrictions -nomemrestricts

Assuming that e-mail is genuine I do agree with what he said. The average cost for a DVD movie or music CD is $20. As long as I have working hardware it runs. It doesn't matter if the people who made it are still doing that kind of work or even alive. I think it is more than fair to expect the same from a $50 video game. Its hard to say that with all this activation crud going on. However, Mr. Newell's statements seem hypocritical to me. Doesn't steam require you to install a 3rd party client, download part of the game, and activate it? That doesn't sound all that user friendly to me.Drosa

You would think so, but no. Steam is just about as seamless as it gets. Select which game you want to install, it DLs the components and once it's done you play. The only major problem is that you can't play offline for extended periods of time(up to three weeks). But who would want to live without the internet?

Since I didn't have any issues with the audio before I went to bed, right after I installed it; I am thinking they did a (failed) behind the scenes patch through their online service in a misserable attempt to fix some of the issues... and just ended up making more.

Actually for a lot of games, setting your sensitivity lower works out much better. I played CSS for the longest time using a 5+ sens. until I CPL player I knew suggested lowering. So I messed around with different values and upon lower my sens I instantly got better. I now play at 1.8. Everybody's niche is different. I know guys that rape playing with 20 sens; for me, having a lower setting gives me more control, as I have a naturally twitchy aiming style(I never aim the scout, I just throw my mouse in a random direction and pull the trigger. Strangely enough, it works quite well for me!)

Let's get this out of the way:

Windows XP SP3

Nvidia 8800 GT

Creative X-fi Elite Pro

Corsiar XMS 4400 DDR 2x1 GB

DFI Lanparty NF4 Ut Expert

3x Samsung SP2514N (250 GB)

1x WD Caviar 320 GB AAKS

1X WD Caviar 640 GB AAKS

Alright, my problem is that I am getting really bad audio popping. On top of that I am getting really bad shuttering with the audio(some where in the neighborhood of 100ms) Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?

Nice try, I'm not a complete noob. No matter what aspect ratio I select I only get 800x600-1600x1200 and no widescreen rezes in between. I think it stems from the fact that my monitor drivers are stored in the monitor's firmware rather than on the OS so Ob/F3 doesn't recognize it. It may also be freaking out at my dual monitors. I just wish they would have the forethought to test some non-standard configs. On that subject, Ob/F3 is totally incompatible with ffdshow, so now I have to find a work around for that as well.

I found it, thx for the tip. I don't see why they couldn't put it in game like in Oblivion and the fact that there are no widescreen resolutions, but atleast it's not running at 800x600 anymore.

I have yet to find a resolution option in F3. Am I correct in stating that there is no such option or am I a blind retard I have checked the ingame menus and the .ini files and have yet to find anything pertaining to res. Does Bethesda believe PC gamers ahve become too retarded to have a res option?

If I am right, has anyone found a way to change it?
