Going Retro

Recently I've made the decision to buy a SNES. The reason why im going to shell out my money to buy a 15+ year old system is because 1) Its Cheap and 2) There's security in knowing you're buying a good game that's been given time to age and has been consistently getting good reviews and has proven that its worth it. After COD: World at War and Final Fantasy XII (Sadly), ive noticed that with current gen and next gen releases, they've often been over hyped and you buy it with a big "ITS SOO SHINY AN' NEW" chubby that the first week you play it, its great...and after that week you're pulling you hair out with frustration not over the fact that its not a good game, but over the fact that you spent $60 of your money on it. I'm not saying that all new games are bad, I'm just saying that people should wait before buying new games.

Broke and in Gaming Hell

For the past, I don't know, SIX MONTHS, my gaming and all around electronic life has slowly deteriorated into a bloody mess reminiscent of Eddie Murphy's "Vampire in Brooklyn". The beginning was my Xbox 360 getting the red ring. I'm actually proud of my Xbox because it was the original edition (got it the day it came out), but its still broken and at 16 with no job and a dad who works in the mortgage business...i cant afford to pay the hundred bucks to fix it. Then my 3 year old brother broke the Wii. Initially, i didnt care because i was too lazy to play it anyways; too much waving and spazzing. I dont have a ps3 because, if I DID have one, getting the $100 to fix a 360 obviously wouldn't be a problem. Then old faithful, my war horse of a ps2's input jack broke. Im not looking to sound like a **** on the internet, but i cried and spiraled into depression. Then my younger brother literally ripped my DS in half. LITERALLY RIPPED IT IN HALF. So here i am, saturday night, blogging about what i WOULD be doing right now, if not for the flaming hand of God exploding my dreams.
