Seriously, if you think about it, who wasn't psyched for Gears 2? The first games' multiplayer, while bare bones, was sweet. The maps were fun, the strategies you could employ per map were various, it was satisfying to take on a team 3-on-1 and pull out the round and win. Yet, there was a lot that was wrong. The matchmaking, if you want to call it that, was sad. Sitting in a room for 10 minutes waiting for people to randomly join was tedious at best. The host advantage was, well, an ungodly ridiculous advantage (but good if you were indeed the host). So, understandably, who wasn't frothing at the mouth when Cliffy B (Insert expletive here) said that the next game in the series was going to address everything from the matchmaking to leveling out the host advantage. Well, once you popped in the disc on that fateful November night, you came crashing down into the real world. Gears 2 had these improvements: Matchmaking that took upwards of 15 minutes to find you 'compatible teammates and enemies', and that was if you had the luck to even be connected to a match, improved bullet lag (and by improved I mean take a guess to where your bullets would go) and a host advantage so unbearable it would make the laggiest person in the room weep. Not to mention so many glitches you would't know who shot you in the ass seeing as how they could sometimes shoot you through walls, or, if they so desired, through the ground. By the way, I know I haven't mentioned single player, because it's not worth mentioning, seeing as they took the 'throw everything at the wall' approach. If they would have beta-tested like many other high profile games have done (COD4, COD WaW, Halo 3, BF: BC) they would have been able to save us the pains (and money) that many of us wouldn't mind forgetting. Instead, what we got was a glitchy, unplayable multiplayer mess that was indeed a big F*CK YOU to the community. Now we wait for the patches to come out and fix the game, and no, an experience system doesn't count.

It's Very Simple

If you do not like a franchise that keeps coming out every six months, then don't buy it. If you and your friends keep supporting it and then whine "Oh, it's the same as _________ was". Guess What??? It's your fault.
