The Megan Man X series, in my opinion, is the best without question. Though I did love the original Mega Man games, I couldn't help but enjoy playing as X better. The levels, graphics, characters, speed of gameplay, the ability to dash and cling to walls, the amazing armor upgrades, and Zero made the X series one of my favorite series of all-time.
The official Gamecube controller is definitely worth the extra money. The 3rd party controllers for GC are not nearly as good as the real thing. Not only does the overall quality of the off-brands feel cheap, but the shape of the controller typically does not fit well with the average person's hands.
My favorite DS game up to this point has to be Lunar Knights. It has everything I could ask for...amazing storyline, cool weapons, and the characters are great.
