The Future of Home Consoles

I am here wondering where the consoles are going.  So I am going to write a prediction and stuff like that.  First off, I would like to state the state of each next-gen console(not considered current-gen by me yet).  First, the Xbox 360.  It has the most sales numbers but of course came out a year ahead of Wii and PS3.  The Wii, the raging success story.  If you are like me, and were checking all the news and generally hyping to yourself for the past year before it was changed from Revolution to Wii chances are, you were not expecting this.  The Wii was gaining a cult following, and right before the launch, everybody was suddenly excited and even outlets like CNN would talk about it.  Again, if you were like me, and someone said they wanted the wii really badly and you know that they knew nothing about it and weren't following it like you, it was a weird sense of a weird emotion that was almost anger for some reason.  Sales spiked and Wii has sold half of the Xbox 360 in less than half the time.  The PS3 is a little bit of the laughing stock of the industry right now.  With it already having few franchises exclusive that would encourage gamers to buy it.  But now, many of those developers see the sales numbers, and are moving the franchises to Xbox 360.  This happened when hope sparked in the middle of sony's darkness with Home and LittleBigPlanet.  Home, who knows, we don't know how it will turn out and it depends on the fact that people are using it.  LittleBigPlanet partly too but you can just not share your created levels.  If you havent, watch the GDC keynote and find the part with LittleBigPlanet and watch.  So, there is still much to come ahead.

So my big question is...well, what next?  I mean that the graphics can't get better for eternity, so, is Microsoft or Sony going to have motion control.  If so, when?  Will there be some virtual reality that goes beyond the game and like in futuristic cartoons or whathaveyou  and place you in the world.  Will that be how survival horror games will finally make the tough crack?  What about sports, are you going to be actually running?  Who knows?  The companies.  Only they can help the evolution of video games and the first step was 3D and now, the Wii motion control.  So, what will the future hold.  Comments to these questions or generally what you think are appreciated.
