Tera open BETA Review The innovative fighting system is certainly something which every mmorpg player should try to have a go at for a change. It provides some epic scenery along with a great flowing play style and fighting. The quests are fun enough if not a bit similar to start off with (kill the pig, now this pig with armor, now this pig with armor that has stolen stuff etc) but aside from the apparent lack of structured storyline in the beginning I have enjoyed the experience of the game. Its hard when talking about mmorpg's to not compare them to the giant that is World of Warcraft. However as this game has dominated a market, developed a fan base in the millions and over the years added more and more features it is important to take it into hand. Tera provides a new type of mmorpg that is highly different from WoW but at the same time the lack of lore and apparent storyline cripples its appeal along with dare I say it, over revealing charecters verging on hentai porn at times. This game, in my opinion, will not 'destroy' Warcraft or take a large portion of its market away. But it does provide a new base for other game to look at and take some ideas from. As it has already been released for a year in another country the BETA testing was incredibly smooth with no noticable bugs to me. Warcrafts end does however approach, players leaving, blatant rehashed content after their join with Activision and promotions designed to trap players into the addictive game instead of producing new and innovative content to add to the game could be its downfall or its salvation... only time shall tell.
