I hope someone reads this and gives me his opinion. I don't know what is wrong with a "Kotor-like" or "Disney-like" ending, instead of a Deus Ex/Fallout 3-like ending. For example: Paragon ending: 1- Shepard lives (always, there shouldn't be a single ending where Shepard dies after all he/she did and survived) 2- Saves Earth 3- Reapers are destroyed 4- Shepard goes back to Earth and is welcome as a hero by the surviving troops 5- Scenes show the reconstruction of Earth, Thessia, Palaven, and other worlds 6- Finally, the Council offers Shepard to be the new council member* 6.1- If you chose to accept (you united all the species to fight together despite centuries of hate, every race respects and admires you, why not?): You are shown to serve as mediator between galactic conflicts (for example you achieve peace between humans and Batarians; Batarians, Quarians and/or Geth are welcome to open an embassy at the Citadel, etc.). Also, humanity takes a more prominent position between the council species: like the Farixen treaty being revoked and humans having as many ships as Turians do, new joint projects between humans and other species as new ship classes (Normandy was a mixed human-turian project) and reconstruction and colonization efforts, etc. 6.2- If you think Shepard is a soldier and isn't suited for politics, or prefer your Shepard to continue on a military career for any other reason, you offer the position to Hackett or Anderson (if survived) instead. You would be promoted to Commodore or Rear Admiral (finally losing the iconic Commander rank) and also continue to help the Citadel government as a Spectre. Renegade ending: 1- Shepard lives (always). 2- Saves Earth 3- Controls the Reapers 4- In control of the reapers, takes control of the galaxy and creates some sort of Human galactic dictatorship (like the Protheans did before) 5- Scenes show the other races obeying human rule as 2nd class citizens. 6- Shepard becomes the galactic Emperor, Supreme Counselor or whatever name you want to give the position. Any ending would show a different and representative scene with your LI according to previous choices. Bonus ending: Organic and synthetic life merge and galactic peace is assured for all the generations to come (this wouldn't be a canon ending for future games set in the same universe). I think my endings are far better. Yes, they are simpler and don't allow you to make a hard decision at the end of the game, but after playing 32810398120 hours, I want my Shepard to become someone important (either galactic hero, or Emperor) at the end of the game and to know exactly what happened with the rest of my companions. One thing I didn't like is why I can't have a life together with my LI?! Poor Ashley :( I spent ME2 and ME3 giving the Geth and Quarians a chance for peace, I showed them that it can be done, why would I want to exterminate the Geth at the end of the game?! The Geth were always victims, they reacted in self defense, why does the kid at the end consider them and other synthetic life a menace, and why does he think harvesting DNA from all organic species and creating monsters like the banshees, husks, etc is a "solution". Either way the explanation that all was done to prevent synthetic life forms from turning against their creators is weak. The Geth and EDI are examples of the contrary... Lastly, the game is called MASS EFFECT, why would you destroy all the MASS EFFECT relays?! It would tear apart the galaxy, as it will almost impossible to travel from one system to another (in MLS speed it takes months or years). Planets and outposts with no resources will disappear, and it limits future games or stories with this universe as background. Gah. I'm really sad, with Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3 endings I think I can't trust BioWare anymore :( * (I don't know if Udina can be saved, I killed him right away when he pointed with a gun, the only renegade action I did in the 3 games, and was very well worth it. Even if he can survive, he wouldn't be the human council member anymore.)
