@king_quaps @MiltoxBeyond @ThisIsMyFlannel I like how you're basically trying to insult people's intelligence by saying they are simpletons for enjoying something, when it appears that personal preference is subjective and not a universal standard.
I agree, a good story can really add a sense of gravity to the events that take place in a game. For me, Mass Effect has really captivated me thanks to its story. I always sought out the codex entries throughout the game so that I could learn more about the backstory and it made the experience that much better.
@MajDingleberry I never said it doesn't look ridiculous. But in the context of this game it works just fine. If we were talking about a hyper-realistic game that attempted to closely mirror realism, then I could see why there might be issues. However, this game is so far from realistic that it shouldn't be something people take issue with. You know what else looks preposterous? Monstrous humanoids with guns burrowing up out of the ground and who are also capable of controlling giant dinosaur creatures with missile launchers and cannons attached to their arms. I understand where you are coming from, but in the context of the game it seems silly to take complaint with a woman being able to take something heavier than her as a meat shield.
@davidsworld3 The issue is that you think the female characters should fill an auxiliary role and that it should be left to men to do the fighting. I get the physical impossibilities of someone small using a big creature as a meat shield, but when you take into account that this entire game is impossible in scale, then weight ratios seem like a petty complaint. There was a massive worm that sunk and devoured entire cities, and a squad of men were swallowed by it only to cut its hearts apart with chainsaws mounted on assault rifles, and your complaint is that a woman couldn't use a locust as a meat shield?
