Because we are trying to refrain from having a popularity contest and see who would actually win in a fight. Which would be Cloud, since Link, for all his wits and wacky gear, cannot beat Cloud's ability to call upon a nuclear blast from several Gods in various forms.
What are exactly these nukes and gods you speak of? Depending on which Link this is, this fight can be a fairly even one to a plain curbstomping on Cloud.
