@DarkSaber2k @AncientDozer Unfortunately, too true. I really hope they get there act together soon. Not only for console gaming but for all the people that rely on it for work. At least kill that uber money pit of a TV department Sony!
@xcollector I kinda like how this will be like the 5th or 6th time Nintendo would be destroyed. I just wish they would learn to stay dead and they can't possibly get themselves out of the fiscal hole their console has dug them into last generation....oh wait! that was Sony. Seriously though, who flipping cares what sys is best. Only a fool wants Nintendo or any other console dead. More competitors means more COMPETITION which means lower prices for US! Heck, WSJ even reported on how Sony learned very hard that they can't just price the console as they saw fit due to how Nintendo bested them in console sales with a lower priced alternative. Which means that even though some fools can't stand Ninty. They have a hand in ensuring Sony lovers get a better priced PS4 to enjoy. Oh capitalism, you rascal you!
@greg0455 Well I never said he claimed the world to be nonviolent and I'm sorry but you speak as one who has never left the comforts of the first world. The world is a far more violent place than you seem to realize. Slavery is still rampant, mass slaughters and genocide by extremists, governments and corporations are still happening. The biggest crime however is the apathy of people and lack of reporting by media. I encourage you to dig a little deep than "a simple survey of history" for as many know, it is only the victor who writes it and whatever they wish to omit will be erased or covered unless one has eyes to truly see what is plainly around them.
Ya know it's funny to compare units moved to how previous gen did simply because the economy we have worldwide was nothing compared to what we have now. Overall game sales are down, people are more concerned, justifiably, on day to day living rather than putting themselves down a deeper fiscal hole for a not as necessary toy. Does the Wii U need better launch titles or power and whatnot? Perhaps. But one: how a console does is not determined at launch but later on, perhaps a year later. And two: comparing sales now to a time where fiscally we all had a far larger disposable income is ignorant if not flat out stupid. I'm more concerned about the overall downturn of console games in the face of shovelware and CoD clones. I honestly can't give a flying rats arse on which console is doing better. I want creativity and innovation not wii casual trash, madden 56 bromania, or CoD/GoW clone trash. In that, all three systems are at fault and need to get their act together. At least for Nintendo, it looks like they are taking steps in the right direction. I hope the same for Sony and MS as well.
Wow Mark had me until his asinine claim that this era is considered one of the most peaceful. That statement , not only terribly false, is an insult to anyone who has eyes and ears. Just as they blame media for overexaggerating it would be good of them to not to do the same. Simply put, AgentA-Mi6 hit the nail on the head.
