I go for CA everything they have done has impressed me greatly.

2001: a space oddessy, Alien/Aliens, Blade Runner, the orginal Star Wars and one of my personal favorites the orginal War of the Worlds from 1953 :)

Deus ex 1 on PC. as an overall package...it is the best game ever made in the history of this industry..ever.. imho.

reasons?

although the game is linear overall....every level lets u solve problems any way u see fit. the game doesent give preferential treatment to a particualr type of play so theres no pressure.

this game still does the choice/consequence stuff better than anyone else...even bioware. with biowares games its a case of make a choice then carry it out. in DE1...if u kill someone then u made a choice and u will have to deal with the consequences. i remeber that happened to me the first time in the game and it was a real "o..wow..wow" moment.

very well balanced. this was one of the first games to mix RPG, FPS and stealth into one game successfully. everythign is balanced and theres never any pressure on the player to play in a particualr way. the game rewards progress...not kills.

extremely interactive. even in the modern age and advanced physics and massive production values...this game runnning on the UE1 engine outclasses pretty much everything released before or since in this area. from hacking computers to smoking a ciggy...the player can move everythign thats not tied down and interact with anything that looks like it can be used. even pool tables.

i could go on and on. some games do certain things better than DE1 (stalker has better for example and splinter cell does stealth better)...but as an overall package it is without equal imho. the pinnacle of this industries achievements.

I have to agree with you Deus Ex is not one bit overrated I am playing for the first time this week and it is still amazing!
