Here are my top 5 favorite videogame developers. These are thedevs I want to work for.
5. Intelligent Systems-
These guys are the mind behind suchseries as Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, and a few Metroid games. I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem and like the storyline of the game and the gameplay. The games they make challenge your mind and make you constantly plan out your moves(you have to think 3 steps ahead of the AI in Fire Emblem). I like games that challenge you mentally(Fire Emblem and Advance Wars)and put you on the edge of your seat(Metroid Fusion).
4. Square-Enix-
It was number one one time, but they've fallen from their old glory. I still like them, but they need to stop remaking and creating spinoffs. I think that if they had to remake a game, they should remake Chrono Trigger(thought it would be FF7?:P ). I do like the Kingdom Hearts series and, of course, the FF series, but they need to get Sakaguichi back(well it's too late now) or at least get Monolith soft back(they did Xenosaga and Xenogears). I am excited for Last Remnant(and that it's rated M, sothey're going all out)and the XIII series, but they need to create some more original games(LR is a start, but for the PS1, they had so many different games, which I think they should do again).
3.Bethseda-
The people who brought you Oblivion had to be in my top 5. Oblivion is very open-ended, meaning you can do practically anything. I heard that you can play Oblivion for a whole year, and I agree. I got the game right when it came out, and I'm still playing it. They must of worked their butts off on this game, and I can't wait for The Elder Scrolls 5. I hope they don't let me down.
2. GameFreak-
I have to give them their props, even though the Pokemon series is childish, it is a very good series of games. It takes a lot to created 486 monsters(that's the total so far). Making new places to join is a big thing too. They said that the main point of the Pokemon series is to bring people from all over together, which is happening now that Diamond and Pearl have WiFi. They should make a Pokemon game that you can trade with all the games(even Red, Blue, Yellow, Collesium, etc). It would be impossible, since they are on different hardwares, but it would be cool.
and number one. I have very high expectations from them, because of the director, but they will probably exceed them.
1. Mistwalker-
As the previous director for Squaresoft, who actually brought Squaresoft back from getting bankrupt by creating one of th biggest game franchises, Final Fantasy, he is legendary across the videogame genre. I would love to create a game with him, no matter what system it's on(it could be on PC, and I wouldn't care, not that I'm dissing the PC). He was behind other games such as Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve, and Vagrant Story. He alwayed kept a close eye on the FF series when he was there. He got promoted to Executive Vice-President after FFVI came out, which then, he wasn't directly involved with a lot of the FF games after that. When I learned about him, he just finished creating Mistwalker, which is now under Microsoft(it's funny how SE sides with Sony mainly, which they side with MS). Blue Dragon made a lot of people in Japan buy a 360, which is a big accomplishment to me. Also, he said that he didn't like the path SE is taking the FF series, and said that he plans on taking his own creation down. A lot of people think he's crazy, but I say that he can do it, but he has to go all out and make a game as good as Chrono Trigger to take SE out. I heard that he's trying to buy the rights to the Chrono series(a direct Chrono Trigger sequel in the works? I hope so). Blue Dragon did very well, and Lost Odyssey looks very promosing. I'm hoping that they can make a series to rival Final Fantasy(I don't want them to take FF down), and light a fire under SE's butt. I hope I can get a job with them, and get Sakaguchi to become my mentor, like he was with Tetsuya Nomura. Wish me luck on that one:)
