It ended with a lot more civilian deaths using the atom bombs than it would have if it had dragged on. Soldiers are prepared to die, civilians are not.[QUOTE="DrTrafalgarLaw"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Yet it ended the war with estimated less loss of life......you would have preferred more death?wis3boi
Except the part where every citizen in Japan...Man, woman, and child, was trained to fight back and die for their country if a land invasion happened. Russia was also ready to do a co-op land invasion with the US. it would have been a bloodbath never before seen by the world. Two bombs ended the war and prevented a drawn out invasion nearly overnight.
Also, the firebombing of Germany by the Brits and Americans ended more civilian lives than two atomic bombs. Go figure. I guess they don't teach that in schools anymore.
It's also worthy to note how the end of WW1 and WW2 redrew the map of the Middle East, sending people of different cultures and politics to live in regions they did not wish to share, further promoting the violent Middle East you see today.
we don't know if all of them were going to fight it is not justifiable plus what's the difference between allies and axis if both are willing to murder civilians to get what they want? I think they should have fought instead of wiping the civilians out
