I think it's obvious GT5 will not have any damage modeling, but depending on where you stand, that might not be such a bad thing. Forza will have damage but it's not even gonna be close to how damage actually happens in real life. I'm talking about the internals of the car not just superficial. So I would rather have better looking cars, than some lame ass damage modeling.

I'm a huge fan of cars and some motor sports. Here's why I think GT5 will be better.

1. PD has always made the most accurate tracks. The Forza guys made nurburgring 17 miles long, it's actually 13 miles in real life. Most people that go hot lapping at Nurburgring learn the track from GT4, not Forza.

2. The new Logitech steering wheel. The one with a clutch pedal and a 6 speed gated shifter. Not confirmed for GT5, but seeing how Logitech has made the last two official racing wheels for GT, and how PD are anal about being as close to real life as possible, I'd say there's a pretty good chance GT5 will support that wheel to it's fullest.

3. GT5 will have historic racing cars. These are amazing machines, from a time when driver and spectator safety weren't at the top of the list.

The only things I like about Forza are the customization options, and the AI. I don't like damage the way most people think of in game damage. Because in real life if you hit a wall at 230 MPH, that should not only complete destroy your car, but it should probably send the driver flying (M rated forza?). Or if you crash, but your car can still run how are developers supposed to accurately portray the type of damage that can happen from that? Like say suspension damage. What if you break a piston rod? What if your wing falls off? What if the frame gets bent? What if there's holes in your intercooler? And then the stuff that happens just because cars do break down. Like detonation and broken differentials. If realism is at the number one goal, you better accurately portray all types of damage that can happen from collisions, and all types of problems a car have, accurately or don't include any damage at all.
