Mario can use old and new items: Yoshi, Drill, Koopa shells, Bee Mushroom, Boo Mushroom,Rainbow Star, Spring Mushroom, Ice Flower, Fire Flower, and the new Rock Mushroom.

The bosses are Peewee Piranha, Rollodillo, Mighty Mallettoid, Digg-legg, and Gobbleguts. The E3 trailer showed an Icy Boulder thing and a Chain Chomp enemy that could also be bosses. Bowser Jr. was seen in Mighty Mallettoid, so he might appear with his father who might not be in it...

Starship Mario is the Mini-Hub, but many galaxies can be found, all together having at least 240 stars, these include Sky Station galaxy, Spin Dig Galaxy, World 2 Hightail Falls Galaxy, World 3 Tall Trunk Galaxy, Upside dizzy Galaxy, Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla, Supermassive Galaxy, Bowser Jr.s Fearsome Fleet, Boulder Bowl Galaxy: Rock and Rollodillo, Puzzle Plank Galaxy: A Puzzle Pictureblock, Cosmic Cove Galaxy: Twin Falls Hidaway, HoneyBloom Galaxy: Bumble Beginnings, and Haunty Hills Galaxy: A Glimmer Bulb Berry.
