Patrick Klepek wrote the probably best article about this whole mess so far. Its pretty long but worth a reading

Inside the Sexual Misconduct Allegations Rocking NeoGAF's Last 48 Hours

Yep, it was a "lover's quarrel" that turned into internet revenge that people gobbled right up. It's pretty telling that the incident everyone is so up in flames about happened, yet they remained friends after and even slept together later. I'm sure she only did any of that because she was so traumatized over the shower incident that she couldn't say no to his advances ever. Give me a break. This is just dirty laundry that's been dramaticized and spin doctored.

It remains strange that Malka's first public comments on the allegations came to a reporter, rather than the community itself. More than 48 hours after questions were raised, Malka still hasn't said a word on social media. A pattern begins to emerge: Malka was slow and awkward to respond to the revelation that one of its own moderators, an outspoken progressive, was a pedophile, and Malka was slow and awkward to respond to allegations made about his own conduct.

Yes, a pattern of most likely speaking with an attorney for the best course of action instead of doing emotional and reactionary Twitter shit like our president does. He knows how the internet works. Plus, when you have as much traffic as what NeoGaf had, you're bound to get plenty of creeps, and you aren't going to be able to know or police everyone's dirty little secrets at all times, especially if it had not really been proven yet.

Neogaf.....run by a rapist and had a moderator who liked kiddie porn.

SMFH.....

Only on the internet is a playful ass grab (when the woman in question actually got physical first), and a mixed signaled trip to the shower which led to absolutely nothing considered rape. Jesus Christ. And people want to moan about all of the SJW nonsense that happened on that forum? How's this kind of slander any better?

I don't know the guy personally, and have zero love for how too strict the moderation could be at times, but you want to talk about dogpiling? What exactly is happening right now? All someone has to do is cry foul, and true or not it's believed, and the perpetrator is now Satan, the mad rapist. I'm sure the timed release of this news wasn't accidental either. It could have been released at any point, but they waited until now, which is the perfect time to strike with something like this given what's been going on in the news lately. Internet revenge at its finest. Hook, line and sinker.

As for Amir0x? Dogpile away since he was already proven to be guilty.

It really is a shame, I used to go there everyday. Not sure where I will go for game news now. In other eye opening events, today reading through my post history here is making me wonder what was going on 7+ years ago in my early twenties.

Your brain was still developing. It's okay.

I won't miss the site for some of the people that polluted it, nor the hivemind/echo chamber mentality that was ubiquitous, but it was easily the best place on the internet for gaming news and discussion. There hasn't been anything like it since, and it will be a very long time before anything similar exists again, if ever. There are plenty of decent gaming forums, but none were anywhere near as well organized, where you could literally find anything you wanted easily.

Plus, say what you will about their sometimes ridiculous moderation, but at least I didn't have to suffer most of the juvenile shit that goes on in other gaming forums. Nah, just had to deal with the incessant SJW bullshit, but at least those topics could easily be avoided.

Not getting any on release, but Odyssey is the game of the three that I am the most interested in. Don't really care about Wolfenstein (I've been burned out on first-person shooters since before the mainstream latched on to them in 2006), and while Origins looks great for an AC game (which means it will only be "ok" compared to everything else gameplay wise), I'm going to wait until I can get it for $15 or less on sale for PC. Waiting for more than two games that I want to play being released before I invest in a Switch.

Sad to see you go. You were essentially the heart of Gamespot and one of the few (if only) reviewers worth watching over the past five years or so. With the changes to the site over the last few years, I'm not sure I'll bother with it any longer once you're gone. It's gone from a respectable (for a mainstream) review site to something closer to a blogspot with irrelevant "news" snippets every few hours. Sometimes multiple articles or updates on the same game in the same day.

Good luck.

The game is fun enough that replaying it (trying to get to the same spot you reached before you last death without actually dying) as a sort of speed run is fun, especially because you know what to expect up to that part and it should allow you to experiment more, or hone what you already know.

If you die, and then die again before reaching your backpack, you can still get all of your weapons back by using the CCTV.  They will eventually randomly respawn at various locations.

Gamespot also got it so very wrong.  I typically don't care about the reivews on this site from anyone other than Kevin anymore though. Carolyn is decent as well I suppose.  Gamespot has gone downhill quite a bit since 2006 or so.  I mostly just look at averages from Gamerankings.
