Civ for Facebook?

So I was just reading GS's news story for CivWorld and I am not sure whether I am supposed to be excited or not. Due to my previous addictions to Farmville, Frontierville and Restaurant City, I am a bit nervous for my academics and my already being easily prone to heavy procrastination, but my apprehensions, surprisingly, extend beyond my concern of 'addiction'.

The real question is, although admittedly this version is in testing stage, shouldn't developers be focussing on ironing out gameplay "problems" in Civ V before they jump into promoting/launching this version? I know this point seems a bit moot -- I mean people will always find fault with something which is not necessarily due to 'dodgy development' -- it does seem, however, that with Civ V still being relatively 'new' that it is a bit too soon to be launching a 'new version' whilst there are still some pressing problems with this current version. I do acknowledge that the latest patch was excellent though!

The way I see it is as long and the game developers keep consistently improving and listening to Civ V players [with decent patch fixes], my academic productivity remains fruitful [or just as unfruitful as before] and perhaps most importantly, I still manage to have a positive experience of Civ V, I'm not really going to complain...

Perhaps it's time to see if I can get a team together?

A Start!

Well, I really did not think I would really use my GameSpot blog, seeing that my other blogs often get easily neglected, but considering GameSpot annoyingly will not let me post my edit to my Civ V review in my actual review, I thought I would do something useful with this blog and post it here [for now]. :)

[Edit *27/12/10*: Major patch upgrade includes the much needed fixes that were promised, for PC users that is. There are still serious problems associated with the Mac version of Civ V that are very disheartening to Mac users! Overall, it is delightful to experience a more challenging and enjoyable Civ V. Purchasing map packs are also highly recommended, not purely because they are visually spectacular, but these 'less traditional' Civ style maps provide the opportunity to test and develop strategy on another level.]

Now, to more Civ V, after a long awaited sleep after about 6 hours [practically straight] of Rock Band 2!
