[QUOTE="mindstorm"][QUOTE="Genetic_Code"][QUOTE="blackregiment"]Let's not forget that the millions of changed lives, of those that have sincerely prayed and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, is one of the best evidences of the power of prayer. Millions of people have been raised up out of lives of despair and sin, freed from bondage to alcohol, drugs, immoral lifestyles, and other sin through putting their faith in Christ. I have yet to encounter an atheist that has experienced freedom from bondage to these things by becoming an atheist.

The reason why is because of the system. In Christianity, whenever someone does good things, they insist to attribute to their religion. But for a secularist or an atheist to do a good thing, they don't have anything to attribute except perhaps themselves but they'll never address their atheism in that regard simply because it's not something that has a solid base like Christianity does. It's almost encouraged by Christianity to attribute good things to the manner of Christ. And bear in mind that no one wants to blame Christ for bad things that they do because they don't want to go to hell or be disregarded by others.
I don't know if it's wrong to do that but it's a good marketing technique at the very least. The problem I have with the church today (not all, just some) is that they are more focused on building the church rather than the kingdom of Christ. It's funny because if they actually belief in their religious beliefs, you'd think they focus more on upholding Christianity but they seem to only care for their church and how many supporters it gets. It's almost as if they sell a bit of themselves for their own godless satisfaction. I wish Christianity dealt more with quality than quantity and spent more time developing lives for others than trying to convert people. But I am not one to argue.
I intensely agree with the statment about the Church not building up the kingdom of Christ and improving the lives of those around them. I guess that's why I'm going to school to be a pastor myself, to make a difference in the world in the name of Christ Jesus.Don't you think there are better things to do than preach? Like being a doctor, for example.
Being a doctor won't get you into haven know would it?
