OMFGZ Left 4 Dead

Five minute opening cutscene? Uhhh, yes please. If you haven't seen it, go watch it right now. And bring a box of tissues.

It comes out in a week and a half. I get paid in a week and a half.

Coincidence? I think not!

Fallout 3 first impressions

Awesome. Just picked up this gamea couple nights ago, played it for the first time last night. I played it for a good 2 or 3 hours, and I've only barely sunk my teeth into Megaton.

Having never played the original 2 Fallout games, I didn't think I would be able to enjoy this installment as much as I have been. I can tell I'm going to be spending a lot of time on this game. I'm contemplating NOT exploring the entire map the first run through, so I can come back with a totally new character and see totally new things. Even if I do explore everything, though, I'll definitely be playing this again, simply to make the other decisions that I will be passing up on this first run. That's what Fallout is supposed to be all about, right? Choices.

This game is very obviously made by Bethesda. It reminds me so much of The Elder Scrolls series, I got all giddy when I first started playing. I can still remember playing Morrowind for a good 2 years (off and on of course) before actually STARTING the main quest of the game. Fallout 3 has also rekindled my interest in the series, and I very well might start up Oblivion again, since I never really got too far into it.

All in all, good stuff. Can't wait to review this game.

WARNING: Angry religion-related babbling.

First of all, nothing against religion. Just gettin that out of the way.

There is this really, really, really religious girl who just started work here at the office. She's a (slightly) cool person all around, and I have no problems with her whatsoever. A couple of weeks ago, we got on the subject of tattoos somehow, and of course, she had to go on a ten minute TIRADE on how much she dislikes tattoos, would never get one, doesn't like people who have them, blah blah blah. God didn't give us our bodies so we could destroy them with ink and piercings. That's how my fanatically religious family views them as well.

That's not what's bothering me, though. I'm fine with people being against tattoos; I mean, why wouldn't I? I'm as open-minded as they come. What's bothering me is this: guess who came into work this morning with a new tattoo? ...It's probably not hard to guess.

WTF?! Granted, the tattoo is a small one, it's on the back of her neck, AND it's of that weird little Jesus fish thing that I see on the backs of cars at least 30 times a day. But it's still a tattoo.

I guess God is okay with you defacing your body, as long as you are defacing it with God-stuff, right?

Right?

Ode to the Hell Jumper

Bungie released another trailer for its latest project, Halo 3: Recon. Don't know about anybody else, but I'm pretty sure I creamed my pants when the ODST emerged from his drop pod and walked down the alley. I've always thought those guys were complete badasses, and I can't wait for this game! Fall 2009 is kinda lame, but it'll totally be worth the wait to play as a hell jumper. We should all strive to be like them, that's all I'm sayin.
