pretty sure this has already been talked about, having to do with the drop in sales for ps2 and psp which are most likely sold at a profit mixed with the increase of sales of ps3 which are likely sold at a lossi_am_interested

This statistic concerns revenue, it's got nothing to do with profit/loss percentages. An increase in PS3 sales increases total revenue, even if they take an operating loss on each unit. The factors you should have mentioned are the drop in sales for PS2/PSP and the price cutfor PS3.

And yes, as someone has said, it's terrible that this game's sales are stomping all over SMG's. What's the problem, 3D too much work for the brain? SMG was mind-blowing, NSMB just isn't.

Bread_or_Decide

Agreed about SMG. Hopefully part II will beat NSMBW sales.

There's zero chance of that happening. I'd actually bet on NSMBW outselling the combined sales of SMG and SMG2 in the long run.

It's not bad at all. If you go into it without insane levels of hype/expectation, you will probably enjoy yourself a hell of a lot.

[QUOTE="SapSacPrime"] The motion sensing is better for aiming, everybody knows that I agree. However it has less buttons and those it has are awkwardly placed and to make things even worse you have less grip and control on the analogue stick it does have due to the poor design of the nunchuck. Motion sensing may be the way forward, but Nintendo have implemented it in a profoundly awful controller design.VGobbsesser

Indeed.Prime 3 was designed with the Wii remote limitations in mind, hence why the old-school means of beam stacking was used (no need for a button to change beams) and the decision to use the minus button for visors instead of the D-pad.The original Metroid Prime was also based greatly around the lock-on mechanic, which may not mesh well with the new control scheme.

Beam switching will probably go to the '+' button, as there's no Hypermode.

Also, the Japanese site confirms that advanced lock-on/lock-on free aim is optional. You'll be able to use the classic lock-on style if you want.

No. Its not more accurate than dual analog. I do not agree, nor does anyone who owns a 360 or PS3. RStar9

I know quite a few people who own 360s and PS3s that don't share your opinion. So that's wrong.

Also, you're using the word "accurate", not "better" - which takes this out of the realm of opinion. The remote is more accurate and more precise. This is a simple matter of fact - it is a higher resolution of control with a faster response time.

Should I buy a good wii game to get used to the system or save my money for Resident Evil, Im in predicament right now I didnt expect to own a Wii before an Xbox360 this gen but things simply happen sometimes D:

InfinityMugen

Well I hope you enjoy it. May I recommend No More Heroes (19.99) as your first purchase? It's a fun quirky game and it wont break the bank with others games you might be getting.

I second this. NMH was my GotY 2008.

Mario Kart Wii at 5 million! :oShy_Guy_Red

That's just for North America - and it's bigger than Double Dash's worldwide LTD sales. MKWii still has a lot of sales to look forward to, if the DS version is any indication. It came out in 2005 and it's still in the top 10 for 2008!

Dear lord. Mario Kart has moved 5 million units (and hence 5 million wheels) in North America alone in the ~9 months it's been out.
