in my experience this is usually what happens after any of their updating or maintanence. usually don't notice any improvements, and have a lot of problems.

Ive had xbox 360 for about.. 2-3years xD
They've robbed me around £1,000.. Just for replacements.. And I do know about the updates and stuff crashing. but.. it freezes every 5 minutes.
I used to tea bag left right and center.. tea bag enemy.. tea bag friends.. tea bag myself.. tea bag cars.. barrels.. guns.. sky.. buildings.. :O but now.. I dont :( My tea bagging days are gone. Now I basically rip people to shreads atleast 12 kills a game on SnD on Cod4 :P Every game is 12 kill + because i r t3h l33t pls.
I remember this same "Preparing it for the big update" bullsh*t when call of duty was coming out I think it was... Or it may have been January sometime and we had to endure a solid 3 weeks of lag and disconnections. Gamespot was spammed everywhere with topics about people selling xbox and switching to that big black fridge looking thing they call a PS3. If that happens again I will play the rest of my membership and once it has expired I will not renew.
That last update was BS.

That was in January and the reason that happened was cause Live was bombarding so many new accounts due to xmas sales that the servers basically crashed and as it seemed Microsoft didn't seem to have the personal at that particular time to fix it. For the most part it made so that you couldn't create/recover your account and there were some periods on lag on some days and particular games but I believe that Microsoft owned up to that and gave a free arcade game away for that. Not much but at least its something.
Yeah that was it.. Biiiig server overload =o.. Didn't microsoft say that they had twice as many accounts signing up on xmas day than any other day =o.. thats like.. everyone who had live in november.. doubled.. and added onto the server.. Omg.. no wonder it went.. Bang? LOL.. Ahwell. That was some Hardcore uber lvl100 lag tbh.

Ehm, i never had any of those problems. And this is related to the NXE, not Call of Duty.
I can remember going onto xbox.com and seeing people playing online.. Few days later.. I could play with MAJOR LAG. Then I wouldnt be able to sign in again for another 3 days.. Weird but could they have been giving each timezone a limited amount of XBL time? LOL.. sounds stupid but thats what it looked like.
No Offense but doesn't anyone pay attention to downtimes, all my friends got the message from them on Live about this, Xbox Live is down from 12am Pacific early this morning to 12am Pacific tomorrow morning "AT THE LEAST" so don't expect to play any Live the remainder of the day, and just enjoy playing Solo games or local Multi and have friends over.
Xbox Live has turned their servers off to prep us for the New Xbox Experience coming in November, so just be patient with this downtime it's only 24 hrs without Live, you wont die from not having it.

Exactly what I was thinking lol. Today after school I went out for abit with friends.. Got home and finished some coursework and killed myself countless times on GTA by diving out of choppers into cars and any other s**t thats solid enough to kill me and send me bouncing across the city :)
