When you noobs dig up all threads, then at least post a link to http://www.co-optimus.com , it's much more useful than anything that is posted here...sigh
Yes, it's overrated, because it boring and repetitive.
i7/i5 is far ahead of any mainstream CPU. Not "sightly", obliterate.Mr_BillGates
Obliterate??? Come back when they are 10 times faster in real life tests, only then you can use the term "obliterate" noob!
Intel of course! AMD is crap for several reasons;
- less compatible than Intel, it's not a myth, it's a fact, ask anyone who hangs out on hardware forums for years
- oh so slow. Sure, they are cheap, but then again, Intel also makes cheap procesors and they have the added benefit that you can overlock them like carzy
- poor overclock
- just the name.... AMD lol, it just doesn't make you look cool, but a cheapass who probably builds his whole computer with cheap and inferior components
- poor use of electrical power
- company has no future because of their crappy products, they almost went bankrupt
I don't understand the fascination with graphics and physics. Sure, more is better, but will it really be that much of an improvement of actual gameplay if we compare that with the current technology. Nah, what gaming needs is better artificial intelligence, an area that the companies try to avoid because it's so much cheaper to throw in a multi-player. Seriously, when have you ever seen world shocking AI in any game?
At one point gaming will be more competitive than ever with film making, that's when there is no way around AI.
Multi-player however is focussed on players, everything around it still lifeless junk whether it's traffic, animals, weather patterns, pedestrians, etc. Companies need to start thinking "HoloDeck", Rockstar is one of the few that is slowly moving into that direction.
The other problem is man power. Designing gamesis getting so demanding, that you really need to find ways as a gaming company to automate the design process, so also in the design department AI can be a great help.
Personally I believe that the ultimate goal to make graphics and physics look better, will eventually make actual gameplay better, because that's often lacking; great graphics, but poor gameplay. Why will it improve gameplay?Well, it's easy to make GTA 1 look better, but how are you going to make graphics in a GTA 6 or 7 look better so that it's a major selling point? You can't sell games on better "radiosity" or reflection in your 3D models and neither can they continue with the way they're heading with multi-player, it all starts to look the same. And let's face it, players in online games can be extremely annoying, not to mention that it's difficult tostart on online game in which skill levels are similar. You're also limited to certain times of the week, unless you belong to some nnerdy group that has time to play COD4 4 hours a day, 7 days a week with 8 guys....sigh
Consoles is for kiddies, computers is for people who want to do more in life than just playing games.
stop havin a go at him for no reasonfurio123
How would you know that he has no reason? Do you havesomeglass ball on your desk?
Nope. Been in front of computer screens since I was maybe...8 years-old? Yet I still have perfect vision.Velocitas8
Pointless comment if you don't mention your age...sigh
Are we now going to compare every game with COD4...seriously...sigh. Wolfensteinis good looking game with some good level design, it's not of the level of Crysis/COD4 but how many games are? So who cares if it's similar like COD4 in some aspects, since when is that such a bad thing? Or should we just go hunting for hidden health packs again...get real will yeah. The new generation of gamers are way too anal about issues like graphics, sounds or wether a weapon loosk authentic. Gaming is about having fun,to relax,it's not some anatomy class in which you dissect an animal for Pete's sake and no matter what others say, the ones that I observed playing this game all had a great time.
