SCE does have some responsibility here, but to solely blame Sony for what happened is juvenile. I haven't heard/read anything holding the CRIMINALS who committed these CRIMES accountable. The hackers didn't play some prank, like editing Sony's homepage. No, they committed identity theft, a crime that destroys lives. That's neither funny or romantic. I don't blame a victim for being raped, no matter how risky their behavior, anymore than I blame Sony for being a victim of cybercrime. (And before you get mad at me for that comparison, ask yourself how many times you've heard 'Sony was asking for it') And yes, I have a PSN account, and I will be watching my financials very closely.
