Watching scrubs is one of my many hobbies, if you can call eating yogurts, letting your brain mush and the occassional *hur hur* a hobby. One of the main reasons i enjoy this show is that it mirrors my 'life' (a.k.a student life) perfectly.
While comedy is a central aspect, a moral is always employed, good writing comes with a coherent story, which is why family guy is regarded as 'just for cheap laughs' Scrubs incoporates humour into an engaging story, surrealism into stylised modern situatons and a light hearted tone to a drama.
House is another good example of this, the acting is phenomenal in both, however being able to relate to characters is key to empathy, and i would not like to empathise with a sadistic drug addict.
A tight budget, rowdy roomates, and lots of work don't mesh well, add in the occasional hangover and my life tends to degenerate into one big blur of panic. So while i lay down and type here, i can feel the oh-so famillar feeling of anxiety as i pray the 2500 word paper writes itself by tommorow...
