If you haven't read, I strongly suggest you do before reading my blog! I also Strongly suggest to those that haven't planned to get this comic, to get it and read it.
I picked up my issue of Final Crisis #1 today, and it was... AMAZING! Especial for a first issue. (SPOILERS up AHEAD!) I'm am still suspicuos of the deaths of Orion and Martian Manhunter, but what I've learned from reading the Crisis series is that the unexpected is somewhat of the out come. Anyway.
I thought the plot was understandable without much knowledge from earlier issues of other comics being necessary, although I would suggest reading Countdown to Final Crisis #3, #2, and #1, before reading the actual #1 of Final Crisis, so that the "transformation", if you will, or something similar, of Darkseid being Killed and possessing a human body afterwards, will help the storyline make clearer since of the situation. Much else from the plot was, at least I would say, Better than the first issues of Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis put together IMO.
I am curious to see what Darkseid is planning with the six possessed kids? But if there is an anwser to my question that is a flat out fact, don't tell me.
And did anyone notice that the Question had long hair, is this the same guy as the one in JLU, or the one that made the cameo appearance in COIE's?
All in all, here's my... oh yeah, and the art, and drawings were phenomenal, I'm an artist myself, and I couldn't of even come close to drawing something that well, at least continuosly.
All in all, here's my rating;
Artwork: 9.1 : very, very good artwork to me.
Story, Plotline: 9.7 : from so far what the first issue is like, the rest must completely, beneficently, awesome.
Deaths: 8.4 : I couldn't have ever imagined the Martian Manhunter being in this category, it was completely unexpected, so was Orions, but I musn't, 100% sure think they're dead, because they might just come back.
All together: 9.2
