Bastion is awesome.

This this this this this. Holy hell, what an incredibly refreshing experience Bastion is. You won't regret it.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you already bought Oblivion. Great choice! I've probably lost a thousand hours to that game. You definitely got your money's worth there. :)

Half-Life 1 isn't just a good game to buy, it's a game you simply must buy; a classic work of the ages. It really is that good, and the proof of this is that the gameplay completely holds up even today. The graphics aren't going to thrill you, but they totally work as far as creating an interesting atmosphere that's fun to wander around in. The game is lengthy, extremely diverse, has great puzzles and combat, and incredibly awesome multiplayer to boot.

Just be sure you play the original Half-Life 1 and not the crummy remake, Half-Life: Source. It was supposed to be an upgraded "HD" version of the original game, but all they did was copy and paste the game into the new engine with some hideous "advanced" water effects and cheap ragdoll physics. Which would have been okay, had they not completely broken the controls and most of the weapons.

You might want to have a look at the Valve Complete Pack on Steam. It's on sale today only for just $50 - not a bad price for about a dozen of the best FPS games ever created and then some. That'll also get you the Opposing Force expansion pack for Half-Life 1, which is every bit worth playing as the original.

TL;DR: Yes! Buy it! :D

Why don't you go outside and run around, play some basketball, swim in the pool/lake/ocean? Start eating healthy and go to the gym. Spend more time with your family and friends. Go camping, go to a national park for a day or more. Try cannabis.

In all seriousness, your the one who makes your life interesting or boring. Video games are fun, but they cannot substitute for the mental and physical stimulation your body needs by going outside and doing things.

If you think your life is boring or bland, think about the millions who cannot play video games, have to work since they were kids, live in extreme poverty, live with warfare and loss of family at a young age, those who probably wont ever live past 6. You honestly have a chance to do something in your life that unfortunately many others dont have. If you put everything into perspective youll realize all your "problems" are very petty.

Exactly. Pure poetry and 100% truth. I wouldn't tell you a single thing differently.

Also, here's a really interesting video I watched recently that might help. I know it really hit home with me.

Alternatively, you could buy the entire PopCap collection on Steam. Then you'd feel downright euphoric for the rest of your life. :D

My only missed purchase was Transformers: War for Cybertron. Gonna be keeping a sharp eye out for that one now.

Everything else I wanted to buy but didn't was because it wasn't discounted enough. Overall though, I ended up getting a lot more than everything I wanted. Definitely no complaints from me. :)

Except, of course, just one: I'll miss you, summer seal. :(

[QUOTE="Phenomellama"]Ultima. The old Ultima games are still great. Always will be. --Ultima Underworld. Might and Magic. Daggerfall if you want 470,000 km to explore...mostly unpopulated but still MASSIVE. Divine Divinity is Diablo with depth. Fallout 1 and 2. Septerra Core is a sort of console RPG for the PC. It was pretty cool. Menzobarranzan, an old D&D game, might be worth a look. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura is one of the few steampunk games I can think of, and by far the best. Very deep and interesting. Prince of Qin...no. Not unless you REALLY like Chinese culture and bad Chinese-English voice actors. Planescape: Torment. Baldur's Gate engine, best storytelling ever. What else am I leaving out? I know there is quite a bit.

Great list! Very nice to see Septerra Core getting some love, that was a great game. In addition to all of those games (literally), I'd also recommend Arx Fatalis and Temple of Elemental Evil.

I really think that people are viewing DS1 and DS2 with rose-colored glasses here. I seem to recall both of those games being extremely straightforward, roam-around-and-kill things, loot gobbling madness. Somehow, I seem to have missed out on whatever "complexity" or "depth" these games had, and I seem to remember them as being EXACTLY simple and repetitive. In fact, I believe that was EXACTLY the point. That's why they were so much fun. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't make sense to bemoan a lack of depth and complexity in a series or genre than never had it in the first place.

[QUOTE="boybrushdred"] according to the TF2 Free-toplay FAQ, those who paid for the game will get a hat

anime_gamer007

Too bad we can't get our money back. I bought the game and never played it because they started adding all the stupid items, which are apparently now paying for the game anyway. So really, I should just get my money back. That's fair, right?

Meh.

I know what I'm about to say is controversial, but screw that game. Srsly.

Why should you get your money back just because you didn't play it? Isn't that kinda your fault?:?

I bought the game not very long before they started going crazy with adding all the wacky items to it. My point was that the addition of these items changed the game into one that's completely different than what I, in my mind, paid for. It's like buying a cheap point-and-shoot camera to take spontaneous party pictures, and then finding out it only has full manual mode. I was mainly just making the point though. I probably would take a refund if they offered one, but in all honesty, I wouldn't go so far as to actually ask for my money back. Sorry, I'm feeling a little "between the lines" today. Hehe :P
