I challenge anyone from Epic to explain themselves. But I fear this will fall on def ears because they are treading on thin ice regarding this issue.

Not about games but...

Global Entertainment industry

Fandangle

Simply Brilliant. It reminds me of other controversial theories doing the rounds, Specifically the Idea that games are murder "simulators".

They had to start somewhere, and maybe this is a little premature but they seriously need to change tact when dealing with their fan base. PC players to be exact. I actually feel that they owe the folks who invested in their PC version of Gears a apology. As naive as this sounds it would make a world of difference.

Well... 360 owners were equally annoyed that Gears 1 was released on the PC in the first place, with a new chapter that they couldn't even get if they wanted.

Most are just retarded children that think that Gears of War is the best game ever, PC gamers are major nerds, and Cliff Bleszinski is God. I don't get it. They're mad because someone else gets something you already have. That's just arrogant.

The Irony is that PC gamers made Epic what it is today. Plain and simple.

i think that sums up very well. don't trust any company, even less microsoft.

i can understand you don't like most 360 games. but the 360 will live for a long time before the next gen arrives and during this time other exlusives you like may be released.

selling your 360 was a bad call IMO even if they'd have released GoW2 on PC. the 360 is worth it if you like all genres (not only shooters and RTS).

anyway i think it could still be released on PC, maybe when when they'll have released GoW3 on the 360. this way they kinda keep the exclusivity for their console.

and even if it doesn't, it's just one game out of a lot of good games, and i didn't like it so much TBH.

I don't mind 360 games, I just prefer PC. I also own a PS3 and I have finally accepted that Fps games on a console aint all that bad. I just don't like being burned and called a pirate.

If you look very closely, This resembles the music industry through and through. Overzealous publishers are ruining the PC market because they release sub standard products. There are over 5 billion people in this world and plenty of room fo a PC gaming market. Consoles are not the only option here, Its far from immune to piracy. How many folks have mod chips in there respective consoles ?

The law is to blame here for this problem. Piracy can be beaten with a harsher view, Imagine you got ten years in jail if you got caught with pirated goods. That would solve the problem very well indeed.

Hey Gamers.

How many of you bought Gears of War for PC. I did, And I regret it. Lets lets get down to it. I bought a 360 just to play Gears. There was nothing more to it. The other games on this platform did nothing for me. It just didn't appeal to me. Eventually, Epic released Gears for PC and I was very pleased. I sold my 360 and bought the PC version of the game.

It was a great gaming experience, I played through it a couple of times, Including the Co op mode with a buddy. In the back of my mind I was waiting for the news of a sequel. Eventually this was announced with a huge catch, No PC version. So basically I wasted the money I spent on the PC version and I sold my 360 prematurely. The PC is my Ideal platform for games and I will choose it to finish most games on.

Epic and Microsoft are doing this sort of thing to many folks out there and they don't realise that honest people don't appreciate being messed around. What sort of marketing strategy are they trying to employ here. Epic made their tiny amount from me, I bought Gears of War for the PC and 360. I sold my 360 because I thought the Gears sequels would be released on the PC as well. In my books, That constitutes being messed around. Not to mention Microsoft and the whole Idea of Exclusive content. If that is what they are doing with this franchise they should never of released Gears for the PC in the first place. It would have saved me money and frustration, I work for a living and these things are not exactly cheap.

I find that their reasoning behind this is flawed. They blame piracy and say a PC is not the optimal platform. Firstly, Look at Fallout 3. It was released on PC and sold very well. The Call of Duty franchise does very well on PC. Crysis suffered because the requirements to play were beyond most peoples budget. When Blizzard releases a game, The vast majority of Gamers flock to the nearest outlet to get their hands on their games. If memory serves me, The PC release of Gears was plagued with issues. It had major problems on Vista. Maybe that had something to do with the lukewarm response it got from the PC gamers. UT3 didn't go down well either. ID software keep coming up with winners and have a very loyal fan base, They cater to their customers and don't mess them about like this. Imagine playing Company of Heroes on a console......

In retrospect, I am a victim of my own stupidity. Selling the 360 was a bad call but having faith in Epic and Microsoft was the worst possible thing I could have done. I posted a more sarcastic version of this rant on the Epic forums and my IP address was banned. Imagine how much money these guys make form people like me, Like the owner of Epic who drives a sports car to and from work. Idiots like CliffyB thinking they are the coolest thing on earth, all because of us buying their PC games in the past. Making them rich and famous while they burn us, Remember, We are just numbers to them. Dont ever forget that.

Keep Gaming:!:
