If you have the money, go for it. I have a Magnavox 26 in. HDTV from Target, and it's great. Got for $450. Check it out, or even the Olevia, one because they're great TVs. Just calibrate them with a DVD when you get it, and your picture will be excellent. Good luck, man.
Just like that one guy said, you'll need to use Aftertouch (R2 after throwing glaive) and guide it over the barbed wire fence. It took me a couple tries this afternoon, but you'll get it. Aim high then guide it down to the panel. Good luck!

Honestly, you won't need to spend big money for a good gaming experience. I have a 26 in. Magnavox 720p/1080i HDTV, and my image is amazing. I paid $440 at Target for it, and have no regrets. The bigger names may give you a better image, and I do want one eventually, but I don't think they're $300-400 better. Seriously, you could go with a cheaper Magnavox, Philips, Olevia, or Vizio tv and won't be disappointed. Fork up the big bucks for a 1080p set.
You can perform game installs to speed up load times, and online play is free. Of those games, I'd def get Uncharted, Burnout Paradise, Resistance, and if you don't already own them for the 360, Assassin's Creed and COD 4.
Honestly, the brand shouldn't make that much of a difference, so yeah, Vizios are good. I have a 26 in. Magnavox 720p HDTV, and it has the same specs as similar Vizios out there. If calibrated even with the THX Optimizer on DVDs, the picture will look great. Don't bother paying 3 - 400 more dollars for a name brand.
You've probably already did this, but ensure that the PS3 is set to the proper resolutions in the Display Menu. You might also want to do some calibration of your own. If you have a DVD that has the THX Optimizer feature, use it. It's not the most advanced method of calibration, but it should suit gaming just fine. Finally, don't sit too close to the t.v. I sit about 6.5 ft. away from mine, and the pic looks great. Try those.
I would say go with a 26 in. You can definitely fit a 32 in. in your room, but you'll be eating valuable space. I have a 26 in. Magnavox HDTV in my on-campus apartment, and it works perfectly.
