Ok, what if i decided to go with the Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 instead of the 6750, would that motherboard and ram still work with it? and i also have 2 hard drives working in SATA on my old mobo, is that DFI mobo still compatible with that setup?

oh...i didnt realize intel was faster. i heard a while back (years, lol) that AMD was better for gaming so i just went with that set up. are intel systems that much better where i would want to spend the extra cash on em? and if so a recommendation like the one in your last post would be awesome so i can do some searching online. thanks again =D

Hello everyone, im in a situation atm where my computers motherboard AND video card went to crap so im in the market now for some new ones. My CPU is an AMD Athlon 4800+ and am looking for a motherboard that will go with it. Im also wondering since i bought everything like 2 years ago if it would just be better to get a new CPU along with a new motherboard if it wont be too much more.

Was wondering if someone could give me a link to a motherboard that is compatible with my amd athlon 4800+ and/or links to both a newer version CPU with a corresponding motherboard. I hear Newegg.com or tigerdirect.com so preferably one of those 2 places since ive heard good things from both.

As far as video cards go i hear the 8800 GT is good so im thinking that; if anyone has any other recommendations as far as video cards go, could you link those as well. I really appreciate it and finally have some money to fix the darn thing, lol. Also i have a budget of about $500, if the links go a little over, that is ok, ill look at what i have to deal with and go from there. Once again thanks.

ok i searched and found a few threads that sort of helped but im a complete n00b with computers and was wondering if someone could help me. ok, im getting "the attempt to obtain an IP address timed out" error that others are getting/have gotten. i am hooked with the cable into a netgear fs605 router which is hooked into a speedstream 4100 modem. ive heard that i need to create an ip address for my ps3 for it to connect with my pc but i cant seem to figure out the right one, ive tried a variety of different combinations. was wondering if someone could help me out to get my ps3 online, thanks :).

no im completely serious. believe me or not, whatever...it prolly just had too much stuff plugged into my surge protector and caused something to go haywire. im not a troll bashing on the ps3, i finally got enough extra dough to get one (had a ps2 and psx before it and loved them both, hence me getting a ps3 over a 360). didnt think i was gonna get bashed for taking out some steam since my damn tv broke, but whatever.

ok, well i just bought a ps3 earlier today and i plugged everything in following the booklet and when i went to go turn the power switch on i heard this loud pop. i was like wtf?? so i turned my tv on, and tried again, and again, somehow it blew out my television and it was making this weird sound. so i was like, let me try this little crap tv i have to see if it works, i plugged the color thingies into the tv and when i did there was this minor spark, i was wondering wtf was going on. i tried turning the ps3 on, it turned on but nothing ever came on on the tv. so i figured maybe it killed this tv too, but when i plugged my wii in it worked fine. wondering if anyone has ever heard of this before, im kinda screwed cuz i was on a 32 or 34 inch tv now down to like a 19 or something plus i have to go back to the store and try and get a new one and hope it doesnt kill this one!!

alright y'all, ive been looking into either buying a ps3 or xbox 360 lately and im having a bit of trouble deciding. I love RPG's (favorite genre) as well as action adventures the most and i dont really see too many (rpg's) announced for the PS3 atm, was wondering which would be the system to get as i see the 360 has some cool looking ones coming out (Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon to name the ones im looking most forward to, not including the multi-platform fallout 3 which looks awesome as well). I know the ps3 has final fantasy, and i really enjoy that series, but besides that and the ones that are also on the 360 i dont really see much of a reason to get a ps3 atm. Then again the original ps1 had some awesome rpg's (final fantasy 7, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, etc.), the ps2 also had some good ones (Final Fantasy 12, Dragon Quest VIII) though i didnt really play too many console games at the time during that era (damn MMO's, lol). So i think the rpg's will come in time, but was wondering what everyone else thought. So any thoughts/input is appreciated. thanks.
